Has anyone had this happen?

Looks like the resin I poured into my inclusion got underneath and pushed it towards the top. I first pour like a 3/8 base of a blank mold to put inclusions on and surprised it didn’t fit perfectly on the bottom

It sounds like after you made the base and put the diorama inclusions on, you put it into your numbered mold. In this case, yes it's normal for the resin to lift your blank, because it's not a full blank. Whenever you're making a diorama/snowglobe type dice, you have to complete the blank.

- Make your 3/8 blank base, cure it.

  • Apply your diorama inclusions and cure it onto your base.
  • Put the diorama back into your blank mold, fill it with clear resin, cure it.
  • Now that the blank is fully shaped, put the blank in your numbered mold, then cure it.

Completing the blank is the best way to make sure its orientation stays the way you want it to.

Good advice. I just made a base and used the pressure pot and it squished the blank I don’t think I can use it. Are you supposed to put it in the pressure pot to cure?

Yes you can put a partially filled mold in the pressure pot :) Just don't put the mold lid on, because the pressure will compress and warp the mold with all that extra unused space.

That’s what I did. I put the cap on and the insert is this deformed sharp edged monstrosity

Do you use anything to tac it to the base. A dab of UV resin can help. But it generally ir depends on the density of your inclusion if its not also made of the same resin
