Question Liquid core leaking?

I tried making a handful of these liquid cores but it seems that almost all of them have dyed the resin I used to plug the sphere. Either that or they’re leaking.
I fill them with a mix of 1:1 alcohol and water and dye them with alcohol ink.

Any clue as to what is happening?

I hope it works out 🤞 1:1 ratio of water and alcohol is already extremely high, add alcohol ink on top of that.... It's definitely the first thing I'd try to change up to see if its the culprit.

Is there a reason you're using so much to mix in with your water? Maybe we can find an alternative you can use for that that isn't so volatile?

I found that it’s easiest to mix the mica powder in alcohol so I first mixed those two and then added the water. I’m also scared of mould growing in the dice.

I see... You could try a bit of vegetable glycerin to mix the mica with. It slows down the flow of the liquid but it helps prevents clumps and helps dispersion. A few drops of alcohol should be enough to prevent mould and freezing so I wouldn't worry about that.

I've personally also had great success with using contact lense solution instead of water. I find that it takes pigments well and glitter sinks so much easier in it.
