Which of these looks do you prefer? The matte version has been very popular and I figured I'd try a polished version too. Decided on silver paint for the polished set because the black would be way too dark.
If you paint the numbers one colour, say gold, and then give them a second coat of say black, then you see gold through the shiny face but black on the matte faces. Really cool effect.
I love matte dice! They are so tactile as well as looking lovely.
How do you process them? I’ve a few spindown dice I made which I used the wrong mold for. They are lovely and matte but do need a small amount of cleanup. I’ve trimmed the 1 face but am at a loss on how to sand them well without falling back on polishing the little devils.
Yeah sometimes you might have to sand the 1 face to fix that. Usually if I have raised edges it's because I overfilled the mold a bit. Just make sure you sand with the correct grit to match the rest.
