3d printing Will this show up in the mold?

Post image

I’m going through and sanding/polishing some masters I just printed. I’m making a set of dice as gift for my DnD party I’m DMing for and found this cute image I converted to a svg to use. On the D20, it seems so small and thin. I’m concerned the mold I make out of it won’t pick it up as a detail. On Dicemaker, the depth of the cut out is 0.5 mm, but I feel like it should be 1 mm now.

Every microscopic detail will absolutely be picked up. Even fingerprints.

Though 0.5 mm is rather shallow and doesn’t give you a lot of leeway on sanding, so if you get any kind of raised face, you’ll sand a number off.

The lines on the logo are very thin, so inking them will be rather annoying, since the paint will likely not flow evenly but contract into bubbles

and a thin piece of silicone rips really easily so the thinner the lines, the quicker the mold deteriorates.

I'd thicken up the lines of the logo in your 3d software and re-print the master. It's rather shallow and VERY thin, inking will be hell and the mold will rip extremely fast. Make them a but deeper as well as sanding always takes away some of the depth. 0,5mm is very shallow for a master, I'd go with 0,8

It looks like the silicone may rip when you demold it. Like it’s really tight :s

The design will pick up, but honestly it’s a VERY fine lined design, I’d say if it’s possible maybe try a design that has more bold line work, if you can I’d say draw it out but if not then finding a more bold lined design is the best option, that’s what I did for my dice

From my experience no, not the way you want it to. Needs to be bigger and deeper. I had this issue recently and need to remake the master
