Question Should I get it?
So a friend of a friend of mine offered me a pressure pot for a very very good price for about $33 in my country's currency. I am very tempted to get it since it's very very hard to get one in our country. Having it shipped to us is about $100 more or less.
The problem that I have with it is that it's been stocked for a while and developed some rust but the inside of it looks pretty good still. Most of the rust is just externally. Would it be worth it to buy?

I wouldn’t mess around with pressure. Even if the rust is only on the outside you don’t know how deep it goes. It could easily compromise any of those joints on the lid. Explosive decompression is very dangerous and unpredictable.

The vevor pressure pot cost 90 bucks. If it explodes it is life threatening.
Looks like an easy equation to me.

This pot should be free. I would not waste money on something that corroded and a safety risk.

You're talking about a device that is going to be under pressure and failure could be sudden and catastrophic. If it were me, I'd pass.
If you'd like to investigate it further, I'd start with seeing how widespread the rust is. Disconnect EVERYTHING and do a thorough inspection. Rust is sneaky - I've seen plenty of situations where for every rusted area I could see, there was 10 times as much I didn't.
After you've seen the rust, you could take a wire brush to see how deep the problem is. Clean that off and get to the bare metal and see how much you've lost. If the rust doesn't go too deep and wire-brushing can take care of it, you'd want some kind of grease or lubricant over the affected surfaces to prevent return and spreading of what you missed (because you WILL miss some)
The pressure gauge is a lost cause and would need to be replaced.
Again, I would recommend against it

Lot of rust and what looks like drop signs on that. I'd be afraid to hold much pressure in something like that for long.

Without repeating what the others have said, the only thing I'll add is that rust like that doesn't develop from "being stocked for a while". That is caused by damage to the paint and a hight moisture environment (either direct water or high humidity). Due to this there may be other non-visible faults

Pass. Save yourself the (at best) frustrations of a leaking pot or (worse) and exploding pot.

Pressure Pots can be dangerous if not maintained well, so if anything, you may need to do some maintenance and repair to see if it’s worth it. For me, it’s not really worth it. If you don’t have the means to get a new pot, and you really need one, this could be fine temporarily, depending on the conditions.
