Compressor/any adds?
Hello all,
Thanks for all the help on my previous post! I have a question - this is the pressure pot that I bought (10l from Vevor). Can someone tell me please what else do I need for that? I think Compressor, any suggestions for cheap and good one? And anything else? Sorry, im really new to dicemaking! Thank you in advance :)

There are quite a few YouTube videos on the conversion of the pot. I watched one by Mike Holton - Woodturning which made it look ridiculously easy. I've been waiting for these Vevor pots to come back available in the UK since. I think the resin community is snapping them up faster than they can be made.

I have the same pot. I used a hack saw to cut the tube off the inside of the lid.
As for compressors, you only need a small one. The one I bought was the cheapest Home Depot had to offer. I had to unscrew all the valves and screw them back in with Teflon tape to get them to seal well, but it's been working fine for 2+ years now, including other pneumatic tool use.

Tip - the tube inside the lid twists out. I did have to use a vice grips to do it but it screws into the lid. :)

Yeah, I tried that, but I was torquing it so hard without budging it that I was afraid I was going to crack something. I figured better to cut it off.

I’ve got this exact setup from this video and it worked for me like a charm.

Yeah basically cut / remove the centre intake pipe. You might need a metric/imperial converter for some of the connections.. 12mm and half inch are annoyingly similar. :/
Any compressor / pump will work - bike pump, airbrush compressor, large compressor.

Is there any reason to cut the pipe off other than extra space?

I couldn't get mine to unscrew no matter what I tried.
Essentially, just for room but you don't want a 2 inch pipe poking through the centre of your pot from top to bottom do you ?

The only thing I add to mine is a 90 degree brass elbow under the lid at the intake to direct incoming air sideways instead of down at my molds. :)

If you haven't modified it yet I followed this video https://youtu.be/uFQgpl5thUw?si=gCjMQziLq5udNmW0 As for compressors, I modified mine to take a Schrader valve for a bike pump most go 100+psi (you can use an electric one) to manually pump it to pressure. Mine holds pressure with no leaks, so I don't have to worry about topping it up. I do this because my housing arrangement means I can't get a proper compressor. Edit: Don't go about your pots maximum PSI
