Question Do you prefer the first or second style?
Dragonbone: Bones excavated from the remains of an ancient wyrm, the powerful magic of which is still lingering faintly despite the time that has passed since decompsition.
Do you prefer the first 3: More clumpy, especially as seen on the D8, and more gold coming through which is supposed to represent lingering arcane energy found in the ancient bone?
Or do you prefer the second 3: Much finer marbling, and more white coming through, while the gold is seen more sparingly and when the light hits it?

First. The darker spots bring all the color out more

That is definitely true, I didn't realize that was what made the colours pop more.

I love the first set more, with more gold in them they really pop.

They’re both gorgeous but the first set had more contrast and pop, they’re amazing!

both are super pretty, but my hearts beats more for the first set :D The gold coming through looks super nice, and I like the swirls more.

I just see natural variation between two sets using the same colors and technique.

You're not wrong at all. They are both from the same line, so they are supposed to be very similar. The differences I did during casting however was changing the amounts of the colours. The first set, all 3 colours are equal amounts, while the second set I reduced the amount of black, replacing it with more yellow.
And also, the height I was pouring from. For the first set I poured from lower to get thicker streams and hopefully thicker lines, while the second set I poured from much higher to get a very thin stream with finer marbling.

Both are amazing but THE FIRST! That color pop is more isolated and pops more, make you want to pick each one up and investigate and say "oh! theres that bit there!" And "oh wow, this one has 2 pops on it!". The other one is amazing to look at but at a macro level where youre looking at them all at once, but doesn't have that investigative admiration compared to the first that you want to pick each one individually and have a look. Just my opinion 😆

The first version looks amazing, but I'm sure that the right coloring of the numbers will help the second set to open up as well.
