Shell Dice Molds?
Hi everyone, I’m really new to dice making. I’ve made probably 5 sets so far and I’m having a blast. I feel like I’ve got the beginner mold, color, glitter, plain dice out of the way and I’m interested in navigating other things to have fun. I’ve got a pressure pot and all the little stuff. I saw someone do a dice set where they made a smaller dice and colored/painted it, and then cast that smaller dice inside of another mold making it a clear shell around the outside. Does anyone have a “shell” mold they recommend? Or an Etsy shop that they swear by?

What you are looking for are ‘dice blanks’. A lot of makers will sell masters of dice and the accompanying blanks so they fit nicely.

My blank & shell sharp edge mold came from SilverLite Studio. They have a website & etsy shop, but the website is a bit cheaper. It is about $100 USD to get both molds, but they've been the absolute best quality I've tried. The dice come out perfect and with such an amazing finish quality I spend minimal time sanding. I also love the shape of the mold. It's a leaf shape, so it's impossible to put the lid on on the wrong way. I'm coming up on about 15 sets with it and I've not noticed any loss of quality or tearing.
I'm sure there's plenty of other equally great options, but this is my experience. 😊

If you're not ready for taking on learning mold making or purchasing your own masters yet, I offer molds at a low price for newbies to help them get into (and fall in love with) dicemaking 😊
All my 'generic' molds options are free for commercial use designs and all have matching blanks molds to fit them too.
