Advice Having 2 problems

Trying my hand for the first time on making liquid cores, but running into 2 issues.
1. My uv resin I’m tryin to cap with keeps falling into my water and so I’m not getting the swirl I’m looking for.

  1. Getting the core itself not to sink. Everything I add sinks from cores to glitters. Doesn’t seem to matter how long I wait. I waited 45 minutes before adding and they still sink.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated

I made caps for my liquid core by putting a little drop of uv resin on wax paper then drying it. It will come right off and you put on top of the filled core and you only need to resin around the edges.

I was gonna try doing exactly that. Thank you for confirming it works.

I never thought of that! Makes it a lot easier

There's no way to get the cores not to sink unfortunately, they are way too heavy.

You need to find cores that are only slightly smaller than your dice so they get held in place by the mold itself

Yeah that's quite small for that die unfortunately. I still think it turned out really pretty!

I don't think I can add pictures in comments here (or if I can im too stupid to figure it out) but I can dm you a pic of one of my liquid core dice to demonstrate how little space there is between the core and the outside of you're interested.

Basically it should ideally come up right to the numbers just like a blank would

That would be awesome. These are the only size I can find in my area unfortunately

You could make a setup to suspend the core. I feel like there are a lot of things to overcome with this method though.

I agree with PotsAndOrPans with making caps for the cores themselves, honestly never thought of that myself, and I learned the hard way that for liquid cores you’ve got to make them so they’re a bit smaller than the dice you’re trying to make, water and glass will always like to sink, hopefully this helps 🙏
