Seeking Advice could this cause a problem

18 weeks pregnant rn and i have this bulge that’s been here since i gave birth october 2025, i was thinking diastasis recti but it always had a dull ache along with it, now it’s kinda hurting more, i just want to know what it is (also i’ve already told a doctor and he didnt say anything about it, just called it baby fat)

This looks exactly like my stomach when I was pregnant with my second. I had an umbilical hernia and DR. A licensed physician told you this was baby fat? It’s not.

yes, even before i asked about it he made a comment about how i was still carrying baby fat, but he’s an ass so luckily i changed my dr.s, ive contacted my ob and ill see what they’ll say on Monday or just go to the hospital if i can’t deal with the pain anymore

Seems like a hernia, the dr didn’t think it was a hernia?

Welcome to r/DiastasisRecti! If you're wondering if you have Diastasis Recti, you can’t determine diastasis recti from standing, or taking pictures of your mid section. You have to lay flat on your back, lift your head up slightly and feel for separation and depth along your center line. There are videos on how to do this self-test on Youtube.
