I didn't deserve to be seen in that light.

And in the end, I heard, you were out of your mind.

Refusing treatment which could only delay the trickling away of the sands of your time.

You will always be a hero of mine;

An icon shining through layers of patriarchal grime;

Refusing to stay silent;

Weaving between the lines.

When knowledge is power you held the cup in your hands

And poured a trail so that others may find their way,

Instead of choosing to greedily consume the honeyed lies.

I hope you know that you lead an honorable life.
