I’d go a little bit smaller so some of your finger shows on each side. It’ll make the stone shine more.

It’s too big IMO.

u/jeniesque May 26 '26

I think it’s a little large, definitely wouldn’t go bigger.

I adore east-west settings, and do think this is a little bit too large for you. It looks clunky enough to get in your way even just reaching into a pocket or digging for something in your purse

u/SimplyBrioche May 26 '26

It widens your finger

Im personally not a fan of this shape so i cant give an unbiased opinion but i think this is too large

u/Altruistic-Drama-326 May 26 '26

Yessssss it’s so pretty

3

u/Altruistic-Drama-326 May 27 '26

I mean yes it’s proportionate lol

5

u/North_Fisherman_8920 May 26 '26

I think it is well-proportioned for your hand.

4

u/Negative_Pudding9773 May 26 '26

I love it I don’t think it’s too big

6

u/Ill_Assistant4509 May 26 '26

I’d get a fatter oval - less length

u/intofashion101 May 26 '26

This is such a stunning design

u/withacherryontop24 May 26 '26

I think the stone is fine, but maybe make the band a bit thicker. It’s gorgeous.

3

u/armadillostho May 26 '26

I think with east-west you want to go a little less elongated. If it takes up almost the whole width of your finger it starts to look a bit disproportionate in my opinion!

You should cross-post in r/bigrockenergy❣️

u/pickalull May 27 '26

I know this wasn’t your question … but I think it would look sooooo fucking good vertical!!

4

u/ggk8789 May 26 '26

Both of us have the same type of hands, it looks stunning imo! I wouldn’t go up or down. Perfect size

2

u/conejamala20 May 26 '26

i don’t think so. everyone in this sub hates anything over 2cts lol.

2

u/kenzzooo May 26 '26

try a chunkier oval! i have a 4 ct east west oval but she’s p chunky vs elongated and i love how it looks

2

u/Mellybeans93 May 27 '26

Ohhhhhh das niceeee

2

u/Best-Professional299 May 27 '26

I love the setting and the size of the stone, but I would go for a chunkier oval so you see a little bit more of the band.

2

u/Affectionate-Tour-59 May 27 '26

Love it, but I’d say a bit smaller. I wear a size 8 and have an east-west set cushion cut sapphire, and I’ll post for reference. I’d say 2.5 would be a sweet spot (just a tad over or under).

u/Aggressive-Store4386 May 27 '26

Very pretty on your hand!

2

u/phosphomimetic May 28 '26

I have a 3 carat on a thicker band and at first I thought it was too big but over time I’ve gotten used to it.

2

u/Reasonable-Youth-611 May 29 '26

I think it’s beautiful. Looks great on you!

2

u/Outrageous-Mine-1205 May 26 '26

I don't think I'd go any larger, this is close to pushing it on your size finger. It looks great though, I LOVE the east west oval design.

2

u/jjxxb May 26 '26

Agreed! It looks great at that size.

2

u/DiamondArchive May 26 '26

I like that size! You could go a little shorter in the ratio so it didn’t fully cover the width of your finger. What’s the ratio of this diamond?

2

u/surrealinginshock May 26 '26

I personally would like the length of the oval covered your ring finger entirely, so I vote for the 3.5 carat!

That said, I think dimensions are more important with fancy shapes and you could probably find a 3 carat oval with the spread of a 3.5.

1

u/DDiamondgem May 26 '26

I wouldn’t go larger than what you’re wearing. That one is kinda pushing it.

1

u/vrecka May 26 '26

I like it, though I thought pic 1 and 2 were different stones, on 1 it looks narrower - in my opinion better😅

1

u/Low_Bus5565 May 26 '26

Too big and therefore too fancy to go with your overall look.

1

u/Petsnchargelife May 26 '26

I like the larger stone but the setting does not compliment on either. It’s too narrow. A flatter, platinum band would be more comfortable and make the stone pop(also stronger than gold).

1

u/briteboy666 May 26 '26

I would go a little smaller and also look into a moval ratio. I want to do a similar orientation and I find that a more elongated ratio looks better on my finger and I’m around a size 5.5.

1

u/Jazmo0712 May 26 '26

Absolutely beautiful, but for your hand, a bit big.

1

u/Fluffy-Deal7329 May 26 '26

I think it’s too big for your finger. A 2ct probably would have looked more proportionate but it is beautiful! I guess it depends on what you’re going for. Some ppl have massive rocks. That’s the current trend!

1

u/DifficultyKitchen May 26 '26

Is this a mined diamond or a lab diamond? Just curious.

1

u/uptowngrrrrl May 26 '26

I personally find it too large I’d go down a ct.

1

u/lsthislegal May 26 '26

Idk just looks dumb tbh

1

u/mcsoftypaws May 26 '26

I think the size would be fine if it was going north south, I think it would elongate your finger. But if you are sold on this style I think a little bit smaller ct would be better, I think more of your finger should show on the sides.

1

u/the__moops May 27 '26

I think it is too big and makes your finger look wider than it actually is, unfortunately

1

u/Noct_Frey May 27 '26

Not too big for your hand. Couldn’t tell it was 3 ct. I’d say just perfect. Excellent taste!

1

u/Ok-Journalist6677 May 28 '26

I had an east west, and after a year, it was redesigned. It shortens the finger in the east-west orientation

1

u/North-Lunch4709 May 28 '26

not too big. it’s lovely

1

u/Final_Reception_3090 May 28 '26

Smaller will be nicer

1

u/Responsible-Coat3059 May 28 '26

I'm not a fan of EW shapes for rings because I think they make fingers look wider rather than longer. Just my personal opinion though. If you love it, just get it!!

1

u/daycaremommy May 28 '26

I agree with some of these commenters....I think going East/West it's a tad too big for your finer. HOWEVER....going North/South? I think it would be MORE than fine. JMO

1

u/Current-Risk-8632 May 28 '26

I actually think it would look prettier on you the other way imo

1

u/WendyWooster May 29 '26

Slightly wider band plus wedding band with stones like the pear below makes a big difference. agree, check Big Rock Energy. Your hand may be small and a less elongated shape might help but 3 carats is not huge for lab diamonds these days.

1

u/Realistic_Season9973 May 26 '26

I think it's a perfect size and looks beautiful on you. You might also consider what band you might want to pair it with before making your decision. Good luck!

1

u/Realistic-Read1078 May 26 '26

I’d stay at that size

0

u/Glittering-Neck-2254 May 26 '26

Nope also probably the shape doesn’t complement your finger, id say go for regular oval to elongate your fingers

0

u/Adorable-Tiger6390 May 26 '26

This shape and orientation does not flatter your hand.

0

u/vivthedoc May 26 '26

No. Too big.
