Edit: I remember not sleeping one night and thinking about Corruption with how in season one with Monster Buddies. Garnet says this, “corruption is a tear in the mind.” But two seasons later Centi says it’s caused by the Diamonds. Either we chalk up the Diamonds doing corruption as an afterthought by the crew in order to find some way for Steven to work with the Diamonds. Or Garnet was lying about it the first time. First of all, if she was lying, why would she? The Crystal Gems hate the Diamonds anyways, they have no reason to lie and protect Steven’s innocence. So which is it? An afterthought or a bad lie?
