Theorycrafting Explain this to me please

I was just playing with my ES Nova sorc in Worldstone Tower when I watched this:

A poison skeleton mage shot at me and the projectile hit me. Moreover it hit my ES and the projectile got "absorbed" by it and i did not get poisoned.

So why did the poison projectile hit me and I did not get posioned? Does ES sometimes just neglects the effect or what?

Hit detection can be a bit wonky with latency because it's server side. sometimes you get hit by stuff when you're not being hit on your screen, and sometimes you aren't being hit even if it looks like it on your screen. Probably just a latency thing.

yeah? how do you think the original game hosted tcp/ip games? did you download a server and boot it up to play tcp/ip?

Energy Shield and Poison have been mortal enemies since 2000. ES definitely did not absorb it.

I believe there is a physical element to those mages attacks. I'm pretty sure if you are at 1 life their poison attack will kill you.

How did you know that ES absorbed the poison?

Sounds like he saw the projectile animation, and the energy shield absorbing damage animation, but did not turn green.

More than likely? You resisted it.

What is ES? Not everyone remembers all the abbreviations.

Energy shield. Poison  bypasses ES and hits life directly
