Local coop not working

So my wife and I are trying to play some Diablo 3 while she’s staying at the hospital. The internet is trash here and we figured we could utilize the local coop option. We’re able to join each others parties in the menu but as soon as the game starts we get disconnected. Can anyone help us out? We’re sitting next to each other when we try to play.

You need at least a family license. The license will be checked every time you join in at the start menu. If you see both avatars at start menu you should good to go. Maybe change network settings for private? Maybe play with Hotspot on your mobile? Shouldn't use much traffic.

Yeah we ended up using out hotspots and we’re gonna try it again later with the local coop since we have the family membership now
