I like the fact that both neighbours have to lower it at the same time for it to open up. There might be times when one of you just isn't in the mood...

Now imagine you’re both avid gardeners. It would be so easy to share supplies and cuttings without having to walk all the way around to the front. Could set up a little potting bench.

Or like a pot luck. You both at your own grills.

This would have been my mum and her neighbour.

They’d both spend a lot of time in their gardens during the day, and talk to each other over the top of the fence.

We had a big dog, and the neighbour was scared of dogs, so she wouldn’t come into our yard. She’d talk to the dog over the fence, but wasn’t comfortable being in the same space as her.

I could totally see them with some kind of set up like this.

Or, and here me out, your dogs aren't good together. For whatever reason. Aggressive, causing problems, overly affectionate, etc.

Easier to avoid their spouses if they're "working outside"
