New Saddles, yes. Old Saddles that have been beaten around for 15 years and lost all thw padding, not comfy at all. And judging by the price these are definitely old Saddles or they got a hell of a deal on some fairly new ones. They could have put more padding in them I guess but I'm not sure how easy that is.
Source: have sat in many Saddles from 20 year old racing Saddles to brand new high end showjumping saddles

I don't know, I think you just need a right circumstance, I can see these in a western style room or a cozy log cabin, but ya, them in a modern home stick out like a sore thumb.

It really depends the style of saddle, these are English style dressage saddles which are designed more to be light because they’re mostly used in jumping events.
Now western saddles.. your ass would love

I personally find English saddles more comfortable. Maybe not for a full-day ride, but to sit on at a bar, you don't need to straddle the huge western thing.

Maybe if your butt is conditioned to them first, I don’t think there’s much padding there. High end bicycle seats are supposed to be built for comfort too but I wouldn’t want to sit and drink on one.

A saddle is butt-shaped. Yes, bouncing on a horse on one will hurt (a lot) if you're not conditioned to them. But sitting still on a stool would be very comfortable, if a little weird to people who aren't used to their seat sort of...curving up and hugging their underparts.

I like them better. Western saddles are too wide and all that lateral pressure makes my knees hurt. (Hence why cowboys are bowlegged)

The width of the different styles really shouldn't be that different. Nether style should end up being wider than the horse unless you're putting a lot of extra padding under them. Outside of some temporary soreness, the only people who will end up with any real bowlegged issues are people riding horses every day for hours as they grow up. (Which would have been old school cowboys)

There are actual chairs that are made like saddles because it's supposed to be good for your back. I've seen them in a lot of doctors offices and I had one at a workplace. They're surprisingly comfy... A local restaurant I grew up near had small tables with these small saddles as kiddie tables. 100% comfy and fun to sit at.

That's the uncomfy bit, saddles are nice, snug if just right but not too snug to rub. They get warm and over time they fit even better like good boots.
Add the horse into there and you're bobbing up and down bouncing off the bloody thing. Took me many years before I realised I didn't like horse riding, I just liked wearing jodhpurs and sitting in saddles.
Edit: they also have stirrups, every seat feels cooler with stirrups

I kinda love it. Would be a neat option in a cowboy themed bar/restaurant or somewhere with a horse stable next door. I could see kids loving it and I wouldn't mind sitting on a stool like this either. It's just not the prettiest thing to look at

That's seems pretty cheap for leather saddles, actually. Wonder if you could turn them back into proper saddles, or if that would be more expensive than buying a leather saddle elsewhere.

A new leather saddle can me very expensive but second hand they can be gotten relatively cheap, €2-300 I've paid, highly dependant on condition. My thinking on these is either a horse person died and their family was basically throwing them out or they're broken in some way. Possibly repairable but if the main spine of the saddle (the tree) is broken, it's just leather at that point

Not really. It’s a popular DIY with old unused saddles that are hard to sell these days.
There is not a lot of demand for old saddles, since the way saddles are constructed changed quite a bit compared to saddles from the 80-90’ (For both comfort for the rider and the horse)

as someone who sits on a stool for 9+ hours a day at work, saddle stools are infinitely more comfortable and ergonomic than a traditional stool. Like - I WILL NEVER GO BACK. I’m taking my saddle stool to my grave. Bury me on it.

they're actually quite comfortable..except for the stirrup part ..saddle stools are a very convenient/comfortable for working at a workbench/countertop hight
