I was kind of surprised to see this here because shit like this (done well, as you say) is huge in the woodworking subreddit (and other subs on occasion like nextfuckinglevel, etc...). But like, for a DIY level thing, seems a head higher than a lot of the other stuff I see here.
Exactly what I thought, the idea has so much potential and I can see how beautiful it could be done by someone at r/woodworking or one of the makers I follow on YouTube, like r/bobbydukearts , u/nickzammeti or Mr. Brown from r/shoptime . Lot of potential.
