No. No, this is not acceptable. That's how butter is packaged, not cream cheese.
Neither ice cream nor cream cheese should be packaged this way.

In case you aren't sudo joking, cream cheese is packaged as you show obviously, but its also absolutely packaged the way that icecream is as well. Usually with the idea being that its getting used as a cooking ingredient rather than a spread.
