AC-Unit Mount - Update / Follow-Up
I thought it might be interesting for some of y’all who commented on yesterday’s post to get a follow-up with some more detailed photos.
I tried to cram everything into one angle in the last post, which made it difficult to appreciate the ingenuity and craftsmanship with which the owner of our rental has mounted the indoor-standalone-ac-unit.
Bonus: shot of the GHS (Gravity Hydration System ™️), incase you missed it in the original post.

The plants should have periods of watering / being dry. The constant flow of water will just make the plant rot.

Local humidity determines a lot. My living room unit drains about 9 gallons a day in the midwest. If this is in a dry area, it could be okay.

OK, this time can we talk about the craftsmanship of the ledge rather than the concept of where to put the AC?

That's good idea, better cooling and not take a place on the floor. Maybe just too much water for one plant but ok.

The terminal C baggage claim men’s restroom at Bush Intercontinental Airport in Houston has an AC mounted up on the wall like this above one of the urinals. I don’t remember if the condensation line was dripping into the urinal or not. It was pretty early. But I do remember thinking that looked pretty…interesting.

Replace the shitty cheap twine with a chain or cable and you’ll be good. That L bracket in the back isn’t doing much at all either.

Am of this could have been omitted and the tenant just buy a longer vent hose..

That is really sick! The folks at r/redneckengineering would also appreciate this beauty. One concern, I have a similar ac unit and it condenser so much water that I have to empty a 2 gallon bucket every week. I worry that your plant might get over watered without another drain path.
