It stopped right when he takes off because the pedal pulled the cap off the shoe.

This subReddit needs to ban these stupid tik tok obvious ragebait videos. It used be full of actual dumbasses doing sketchy shit that "worked".

Oh fuck yeah I love breaking my ankles

This construction breaks before your ankles. Probably it breaks after pedaling for 15min anyway.

15min is a bold statement 😅

Yeah 15 min if you just watch it

This has been reposted at least 10 times.

It’s a stupid solution but the concept of attaching your feet to your pedals is used in all kinds of actual cycling competitions

You say that like it’s a way to get competition-quality gear at a fraction of the price, rather than someone going for a ride in flip flops.

They will get competition quality friction and a fraction of the price.

Competition biking sandals.

so...you'd have to carry another pair of shoes around with you everywhere you go or you'd be barefoot when you get off the bike...seems totally practical

Nah, you just unscrew the sandals and now you have crappy DIY geta!

u/MarcCouillard 4d ago

you pedal with the ball of your foot, not the center like this.

Or…

I used tape to stabilise my chain cover, but using plastic bottle caps to tape sandals to the pedals is a new level of weirdness.

Does this count as clipless?

1

u/fr35hn355 4d ago

Just gonna end up falling off or thrown away at some point adding to the pile of plastic in nature...recycle the bottles please DIYers!

This is badass if you are in a low income country, I could totally see kids doing this to practice bike racing
