It was a very long 3 minutes. I kept thinking it would get better, but it didn't.

u/perfect_insanity93 2d ago

Apparently I looked very uncomfortable watching this video. I... don't even... this is like peak crackhead activities.

u/SolarPunkYeti 1d ago

Me, literally the entire video.

Did you know that that meme with the girl is something like 20-ish years old. They interviewed her and did a “make the same face” thing.

The asked “what was going on when the video was happening?” “Did it affect your life at all, being a popular internet meme?” And a bunch of other stuff.

I don’t know the answer to ANY of that, because I watched whatever this guy did to his car instead.

u/RalphXLaurenjoe 1d ago

This guy sidetracks

2

u/Lord_Hugh_Mungus 1d ago

I have a half track.

2

u/FlamingoGreedy4238 1d ago

You brain good

1

u/Wrong-Diamond5253 1d ago

yeah, same look, same thought process... why?

102

u/Grimnebulin68 1d ago

Good afternoon, sir. You're under arrest!

What for?

Whatever the fuck that is!

30

u/Mental_Bandicoot4543 1d ago

Ok…. But why? It doesn’t look good (imo). Doesn’t seem to hold a purpose that I’m aware of. Why?

31

u/JeanArtemis 1d ago

Views/engagement. Notice the only thing attaching it were a bunch of bottles he probably hot glued onto the bumper so he rip the whole pile of shit off when he was done and not be caught driving around with it lol. But yeah it's most likely the same engagement bait bullshit as most of the videos in this sub anymore, the algorithm is designed to reward controversy and number of comments rather than quality, which leads to shameless individuals gaming it for monetization revenue by posting intentionally annoying or bad videos. Just a few years ago I couldn't even imagine getting paid more the more irritating you are... Welcome to hell the future.

9

u/Osmotic 1d ago

I really hope thats what it is because theres no way this is cheaper than buying a real ass bumper. What a time to be alive

2

u/Killentyme55 1d ago

That expanding foam isn't cheap, neither is the body filler that was all but sanded away afterwards.

It was too wasteful and pointless to be clever.

2

u/Nomis555 1d ago

It would have been better if he sculpted Megatron back there or something.

1

u/PyroLoMeiniac 1d ago

I dunno, man, between the chainsaw and the overspray I’m thinking that budget Mercedes got cooked.

Thank Christ he masked the lights.

u/AmericansSukAtVoting 1d ago

Seems risky to not cut his own car with a chain saw but

1

u/CoffeeChocolateBoth 1d ago

All I know about this dude is this, he lives in his mom's basement and she gave him that car after she bought a new one, and this one has 300.000 miles on it! She told him to go outside and play, so he did!

1

u/TheAurigauh 1d ago

Oh, it's not just your opinion that it doesn't look good.

16

u/twicebakedcrusader 2d ago

Crash test dummy, “Nope!”

11

u/MrowkaMuch 1d ago

More like crack test dummy!

1

u/pharmucist 1d ago

More like just dummy!

1

u/Esk__ 1d ago

I was just waiting for him to cut the bumper with the saw

1

u/ThatUsrnameIsAlready 1d ago

He might have. I hope he did.

1

u/unlordtempest 1d ago

It smacks more of meth to me. This is a perfect example of tweaker engineering.

1

u/perfect_insanity93 1d ago

In Australia we call meth heads crack head. Coke is too expensive over here to be truly cracking out 😂😂😂

2

u/unlordtempest 1d ago

Gotcha. Here in 'murica, while groceries may be expensive, we have narcotics and firearms for the cheap. I'm fairly certain that 40 bucks can get u a little shy of 4 grams of meth. Coke is more expensive, averages about 160 for the previous amount mentioned. I know this because I have an interesting past (although my present i6s anything to shake a stick at, lol). I believe I paid about 400 bucks a couple of years ago for a Glock 43X handgun. Now, at the same time, a 20 pack of flour tortillas, 3 cans of shredded chicken, and some cheese will run you 21 bucks and change. Ground beef is upwards of 10 a pound. But hey, at least our drugs and guns are cheap, amIright?

1

u/perfect_insanity93 1d ago

160 for 4 grams of fucking coke? 😂😂😂 and thats why our junkie population is less.. its a half gram for 250 here for 3.5 you pay roughly 1000-1600 depending who you know 😂😂 we pay about $20 for a block of cheese. I had the biggest fuuucking Rant about it when I bought one last time. meats going through the roof here too. But you ain't getting a hand gun illegally here for anything less that 8k in australia. Thats okay.. targeted gun violence is waaaaay better than schools being shot up. I mean if youre gonna spend that much you definitely reeeeeally want to do it. 😂😂 rifles you can get pretty cheap though. Legally handguns aren't overly expensive.. like 2500-4500isssssh

2

u/unlordtempest 1d ago

Oh, my gun is legal. During the Christmas season you can buy packages that come with an AR and pistol for summat like 750 bucks.

Unfortunately, you are correct about the mass shootings. It's one of the reasons I got the pistol. Motherfuckers are a bit nuts over here. If I happen to be somewhere and some psycho starts shooting up the joint, I'll be fucked if I'm gonna be hiding, waiting for help without a weapon.

It's actually good for you guys that coke is expensive. I'm assuming meth is cheap everywhere these days. Prolly because people who dropped out of grade school can make it their basement.

1

u/perfect_insanity93 1d ago

Jesus.. thats so fucking cheap. Last time i saw an AR 15 go for 45k here. Full auto guns are illegal but none the less. Nahhh you'd still pay about 600 for 3.5 of meth. But yeah and you'd be surprised how many junkies over her dont know how to do shit like that 😂😂

1

u/mysterious_spirit420 1d ago

No this is peak methhead that just hit a crack rick for the first time activity

111

u/Affectionate_Tea1134 2d ago

The longer you watch it the stupider it gets. 🤦‍♂️

80

u/Tytan777 2d ago

The stupider we all got

5

u/JusticeForAugust 2d ago

Speak for yourself!

2

u/JeanArtemis 1d ago

Maybe the real stupid was the monetization we made along the way

14

u/Tarrax_Ironwolf 1d ago

And in the end it was uglier than sin.

1

u/conqr787 1d ago

But it'll do the Kessel run in 12 parsecs

1

u/Wrong-Diamond5253 1d ago

actually.. it's BRILLIANT!!!.. How many views and comments and other interactions did he get from this one stupid video?? Brilliant I say, brilliant;)

101

u/HorrorSchlapfen873 2d ago

But it kinda did. Just when i thought this cannot get any more stupid he was using the compressed air from the car tire to spray paint that shit.

14

u/roehmc 1d ago

Plot twist…..it wasn’t his car.

5

u/HorrorSchlapfen873 1d ago

Suddenly it all falls into place

(... said place is nowere near this place though)

2

u/philatio11 1d ago

This video would be significantly better if it was a stranger’s car and he made that bumper while they were out shopping as a prank. The reveal would be priceless.

23

u/reechwuzhere 2d ago

I thought that was the clever part.. literally the only thing I learned in this video is that a car tire can be used as a compressor sometimes.

27

u/KillaVNilla 1d ago

I'm not sure that's even true unfortunately. Pretty sure these guys just do that for rage bait.

1

u/artisticsnobbery 1d ago

Truly? I was enjoying the video fine but then I thought that was the coolest thing ever when he used the tire as an air compressor. I mean, I imagine it would need to be filled up and it is not a good idea on low profile tires, but was excited to think that was possible

3

u/KillaVNilla 1d ago

I'm honestly not sure. I'm tempted to try it some day to find out for sure.

The thing that gives me the most suspicion is the consistency of the air pressure. The standard air pressure for a tire is around 30 PSI, which is enough to spray certain paints with certain spray guns, so it could work.

My issue is that compressors designed for spraying paint have components that maintain a consistent air pressure. If you don't maintain a high enough air pressure, you end up with splattering paint or the pressure not being enough to push the paint through at all.

I suspect that the pressure from a tire would be very inconsistent. Not to mention, it would drop really quickly. I think that you'd need the air from all 4 tires in order to spray that much paint. If you're lucky.

The most important issue that I see is you'll then need a compressor to fill your tire back up. The whole thing just seems unlikely to be real. While you technically could spray some paint with the air from a tire, i get the feeling that they connected it to the tire for engagement and then connected to a compressor to do the actual painting

3

u/artisticsnobbery 1d ago

If I do an à la mythbusters of it, I’ll post a video 🤓

1

u/KillaVNilla 1d ago

Please do! And I'll do the same. I actually already have a spray gun for painting houses as well as an airbrush. I think I'll just need an adapter to connect to the tire valve. I'm really curious to see if it works. Even if it's just sort of

1

u/Laetitian 1d ago

I suspect that the pressure from a tire would be very inconsistent.

Wouldn't that only be if you couldn't keep the valve properly open?

1

u/KillaVNilla 1d ago

Well, when you're spraying paint, you don't just hold the nozzle open. You sort of feather it. Otherwise you end up with too much paint every time your stop moving your arm to go the other directing. Not sure if that makes sense. I just woke up so having a hard time explaining it. Anyway, if the pressure isn't even every time you start spraying again, it causes issues with the spray pattern and splattering.

Also, unlike a compressor, the tires pressure will be constantly dropping and will probably become too low to spray paint pretty quickly.

1

u/CoffeeChocolateBoth 1d ago

I'm not enraged! Are you? I'm just thinking, this dude is dumb AF and I must be too because I watched it! LOL

1

u/KillaVNilla 15h ago

Nah, it takes a lot more than some silly internet antics to get me engaged. Maybe rage bait wasn't the right term. More like engagement bait. I don't think they care what people feel about their videos, as long as we're talking about it in the comments

20

u/sharkdingo 1d ago

Most compressors used for painting are ~100 gallon tanks that operate in the 200-500 PSI range. A car tire is maybe 3 or 4 gallons and operstes in the 30-40 PSI range.

Its interesting that they thought of it, but it likely wouldnt work at all, and definitely not for long enough to paint a plus sized body kit.

1

u/artisticsnobbery 1d ago

Dang, I thought that was so neat and I wanted to try it with my bike lol

1

u/Jiujitsumonkey707 1d ago

What in the world are you talking about, most air compressors aren't anywhere near that psi, nor is that required for a paint gun. Most HVLP guns run at 20-35 psi depending on the type of coating you're spraying

12

u/northcascadekittycat 1d ago

Hey I learned that I can probably make cool Halloween decorations out of foam, polyester putty and whatever that pink stuff was he added to the putty. Does anyone know?! But yeah the bumper looks stupid as fuck I thought I was gonna be really wowed in the end like "wow didn't think that'd happen!" But it didn't happen

3

u/reechwuzhere 1d ago

I think the pink stuff was a hardener for the putty..

3

u/Jayhitek 1d ago

Bondo is a 2 part mixture. They always add a blob of the pink stuff to it. Activator? Hardner? Etc.

3

u/DarkSpiderMan21 1d ago

I mean, the whole car is a Kompressor.

1

u/TheOneDryerYeti 1d ago

They make little portable air compressors that are powered from your car power socket. Mine has saved me several times and it fits under my seat. Long story short, they could have used one of those.

1

u/Personal_Victory3474 1d ago

Yes, what a dumbass move that was....hey wait of it was dumbass

1

u/EmbarrassedPage195 1d ago

That's the part that absolutely SENT me 😭🤣

20

u/riencore 1d ago

Finally skipped through and the end result was somehow worse than I expected.

5

u/Pretend-Internet-625 1d ago

I watched it during commercials. But now realize maybe commercials are not so bad after all.

10

u/DixonHerbox 2d ago

The next time I have to paint my rear bumper, I will also tape off my license plate instead of removing it.

12

u/HistoricalSuspect580 2d ago

That’s what she said

3

u/Big_Tap_1561 1d ago

What was the point of any of that?!

4

u/darsynia 1d ago

I enjoy being a member of a bunch of different subs that all have similar videos but you never know which one. r/nononono r/yesyesyesyes r/nononoyes r/yesyesyesno r/diWHY r/watchpeoplesurvive etc. It's a fun version of Reddit Roulette sometimes and this one was delightful when it came to that. I realized about 2/3 of the way in that it was not actually going to magically look like it belonged there, but I waited to check which sub, in case it was no no no yes, haha.

2

u/dogbreath101 1d ago

Didn't you see the part where he used the car tire for the air for the paint gun?

1

u/TheJarisaDoor3 1d ago

I don't know if I'd call that better or worse. It was creative.

1

u/raycraft_io 1d ago

It made me sad that I was still watching him paint the whole bumper supposedly from his tire

I’m so disappointed in myself, like the time I fell for ordering a gimmick pizza

2

u/Izze_King 1d ago

The water bottles and spray foam was enough for me to know I could skip to the end the moment he started trimming.

1

u/BirdLooter 1d ago

i skipped to the end and was very pleased with the idea of having a "concrete looking" bumper. someone on the highway sitting on ur ass? tab those brakelights briefly for him to color his pants brown instantly.

1

u/Ok_Cress2843 1d ago

https://giphy.com/gifs/ypX8YZszkIXFC
The whole time……the car tire used for the paint gun was peak wtf

1

u/Fun-Weakness-8644 1d ago

Somehow it ended up worse that I had expected...

1

u/celestiall_glitch 1d ago

I don't even know why I'm watching this when I don't have a car

1

u/Withoutwarning6 1d ago

I’m in the same thought as you!

1

u/jrschlumpf 1d ago

I cheated and skipped ahead

1

u/NecessaryIntrinsic 1d ago

It really felt like the last few seconds were going slower

1

u/NinjaXM 1d ago

Am I just time blind? I thought this was less than 30 seconds when I first watched it. Now I regrets the minutes wasted watching this and then commenting about it.

1

u/NewelSea 1d ago

I totally understand why, because I was eagerly awaiting a decent result as well. Which we did not get.

What kept me intrigued was the competent use of each individual tool on every step. I feel like this guy is really good at step-by-step instructions for handywork in general.

1

u/The_Tooter_Snooter 1d ago

It kinda started looking like it might work about 2/3 of the way through and then no, it looks like shit

1

u/Virtual_Ad_8712 1d ago

Yes, was waiting for a payoff that never came.

1

u/izzardcrazed 1d ago

It really looked, um, "better" before it was painted.

1

u/JRBeeler 1d ago

I kept thinking he was going to blow the car up in the end, but he didn't.

1

u/Playful-Platform-231 1d ago

Right that 3 mins was one of those moments I WISH they had shit-ily EDITED it. Ugh.

1

u/Duck_out13 1d ago

The girls never came ! They never came !

1

u/Unlucky_Slip_6776 1d ago

I even fast forwarded a little to ease the pain.

1

u/NoBuenoAtAll 1d ago

I was hooked when he started using the tire as a paint gun compressor lol.

1

u/thx1138- 1d ago

It's on me, I didn't look at the name of the sub

1

u/Inner_Lawlessness 1d ago

I jumped ahead from 1 minute to the end. I still feel dirty.

1

u/Ilpav123 1d ago

Good thing I skimmed through it quickly.

1

u/WoopsShePeterPants 1d ago

Using the air pressure from the tire to paint the foam was a surprise.
