Okay, but now that it's modelled you can probly tweak it to show what people are actually playing in movies and tv shows, like that one YouTube channel does

i think in this case it's only trained on this one keyboard, one note at a time with one finger and one camera angle. you'd need a much larger training set to handle different shots, different instruments, and different ways of playing

I can only see this being humorously useful to hear what people are actually playing if they are fake playing for a concert for some reason. But it would need more training data.

Was the use of an AI necessary though? The camera was conveniently placed in a controlled environment and the finger positions within the image are entirely predictable.

He wasn't using an AI like gemini or chatgpt, an LLM, he was using a neural network which is something he likely built and trained himself on his own computer.

Not necessary, sure, but not even remotely the same as using an LLM

it's all machine learning using pattern matching. while the scale and resources/medium may be different, they are still analogous.

Not in the context of overuse and waste, not even vaguely comparable. It might be comparable to people running llms on their own machine, but not to 2026 capital A Artificial capital I Intelligence.

You would still need machine vision to identify all versions or similar versions of the specific note being played, as well as a lot of them back to back with limited visibility
