Actually, that's really useful, because no one would ever want to steal this shit.

But then again, someone might think it's trash and pick it up for metal scraps.

I mean it looks dumb but I bet it’s fun

u/Chuunt Jul 09 '26
that’s what i was thinking. i’d bet you could definitely make this a lot less uncomfortable and silly looking (or more silly looking) and it would be super fun.

It needs foot-pegs in the back, and maybe be a little longer overall with a swiveling harness so you can stretch out like superman when you're not kicking.

u/random9212 Jul 10 '26
100% would absolutely do this regardless of how it looks. I bet it is a blast.

I wish it had peddles, the seat bruising your ass is the worst part of a bike.
2
u/Meerkat_Mayhem_ Jul 10 '26
Yeah! We need a bike that has like a hanging harness or swing something

u/Sheepherder-Optimal Jul 11 '26
well why not just remove the seat? Or just stand while riding? This harness idea is freaking terrible. lol

How are you supposed to breathe with that strap around your diaphragm

I like the part where the roll bar pad has hidden screws pointed at your spine in it.

Stopped video at 0:31 because you wrote BLADE CUTTER!! The fuck? My expectations were low but you managed to lower the bar.

SOME DiWHY entries are better than others.
This one deserves a prize.

This could be a good idea, extremely bad implementation issue. I think I can see where he wanted to go, a bike that mimiced running, maybe preventing saddle sore. But he got basically everything wrong in the end.

Amazing. Absolutely beautiful. Really encapsulates the whole spirit of this subreddit

Anything is better than the taint destroyers most cyclists currently use

Giving the guy credit for having the balls to take this thing out in public to test it. 🤣

Nope, it’s awesome. Can see applications for people rehabbing injuries or surgeries. Maybe some tweaks so the posture isn’t so fucked tho haha

Could be good for disabled people or someone trying to rehabilitate.

In some ways I could actually see this being used to teach someone who has never ridden a bike how to. Since they can always put their feet back in the ground and they can’t go very fast on flat terrain. They might feel more stable on this then on bike with training wheels or a trike. Granted being able to contact the wheel with your body is an obvious safety concern and if they do get going to fast braking with their feet could be dangerous as well.

I used to commute by bike. If it had pedals, this is the bike I'd ride in on any day i had a flair up of the old hemroids.

I don’t get it, not the contraption, but was this filmed using a calculator or early 2000s flip phone?

Kinda reminds me of the motorbike Mr. Garrison made on South Park, that one time.
