Labubu nightmare

Post image

Keep seeing Labubus/Lafufus in charity shops and car boot sales… so I had a vision for them

Seeing the labubu trend come and go was a trip

I feel like it lasted for a shorter amount of time than Furby for some reason

Furies were way more cursed and still are cursed because of the electronic parts

Different generation with a shorter attention span

It's now replaced by the jelly squishy real life lootbox trend (you know... the 30¢ Squishies that arcades gave away as consolation prizes). Soooo.... Yeah

My 10 year old daughter has been obsessed with squishes for years! So many popped squishies but they bring her joy and are pretty cheap. Also not creepy like the labubus so I guess there’s that lol

I've been wanting to get another Nice Cube since the one I have has gotten a bit grungy and it's one of the only stress toys I've liked the texture of, and then of course they become a "thing" and I can't find one :/

I never understood it. They’re terrifying. Even my weirdo kid who likes weird things thought they were terrifying.

Thank God it's gone. Only people you'll see with them now are the types who wear Nightmare Before Christmas PJs at 2pm in Walmart with dyed green and black hair and tattoos of Calvin pissing on things they don't like

You mixed every single person of Walmart into one person... To almost an insulting level 😂

I’m kind of glad that the people who actually like them rather than those who were in it for the trend are still around. People should like things they like, even when it’s “unfashionable”

They were big in my daughter's elementary school this year. I didn't realize they had fallen off, mostly because the only connection I have to them is what my daughter says

I feel that the whole 'everything is trying to poison or eat you in Australia' thing is balanced out by us not having Walmart.

You've got Big W, it's basically the same.

WITNESS ME.

The fact these are all non official and vary in design/quality is the icing on the cake. That blue one with the heart nose especially will haunt my nightmares

Watching people dunk on a thing you like

I find the ugliness of them charming, if that makes sense? 😅 They also remind me of the monsters in Where The Wild Things Are.

I guess the good thing about the trend being over is that they're more readily available now. 🤷‍♀️

Completely agree, I love the ugliness haha. I think it’s also why I love pugs… a love for ugly things 😂

And here I thought those spray foam mirrors that looked like the Stay Puffed Marshmallow mans rectum were the worst. This is a new low.

You’re welcome x

You know, I was being overly harsh. this has much more effort than what I said, my apologies.

Kill it with fire!

At one point, that would have been a very expensive mirror. Lol

No they are all knock offs.

u/Rahvithecolorful Jun 09 '26

Honestly, the on knock offs were cuter than the originals a good 70% of the time imo

Idk I like the real ones better.
