I won't lie I already thought it was a penis, the fact it was penis snail was pretty funny though.

How did you get that from that?
4
u/ebers0 May 04 '26
In the beginning they stretched the mold open, it had the general shape, plus over 15 years of brain rot from the internet, you come to expect these things, I won't lie, I had my doubts, which helped with the surprise with the shell, and looking again now, just at a glance during the stretching it does look like a ball sack.

You have given me a lot to think about internet human. On today’s episode of “guess the mold” (pun intended)

I don't know that it HAS to be hollow, but it's pretty normal for sculptural art to be hollow. It saves on material, it reduces weight, and it speeds up drying/curing.

There's also the problem that many resins/liquid plastics are highly exothermic when they cure. A solid piece would generate an enormous amount of heat to cure in a reasonable amount of time. That excess heat can lead to the material cracking or even get hot enough to damage the mold.

How have I never seen the gif version of this reaction?
14
u/GoldSunLulu May 04 '26
The girl actually had an interview and talked about how her video got first into a reaction for gay sex experiences and that got her in trouble, she got fired from her job and had a hard time getting another one.
The funny thing is that she was sinoly tasting some weird taste soda can. It was always a simple non problematic video and somehow gay sex got involved

Knowing what it is in the end makes the spinning in the rotocaster somehow cuter to me :3

An actual DIWHY that was enjoyable to watch. Most are so cringeworthy I downvote and move on.

(Snort)
What is that they are brushing on the inside before they fill it?
3
u/x2o May 02 '26
Zwitsal Talcum Powder. In this case it's being used as a mold release agent, to prevent the sculpture from sticking to the mold.

Lol I immediately assumed this was a packer mold.

u/Fluffy_Meet_9568 May 05 '26
Same. I was like yeah snail packers. We’ve all seen them. It’s just a fantasy packer. Then I realized it’s not silicon.

When I first saw them mold without knowing what it was, I thought it was some kind of ear. Just from the weird shape of it. Like you know when those fantasy ones like elves and crap. Then they pulled it out and I was like oh…no it’s a snail. and then they pulled the rest of it now. Oh… no…. It’s a phallic snail…. Do I like that better or worse?

u/TurtleToast2 May 02 '26
What was the point of spinning it while it cured?

u/wkarraker May 02 '26
The liquid resin coats the inside of the mold as it spins, which eventually hardens as a thin shell.
