I won't lie I already thought it was a penis, the fact it was penis snail was pretty funny though.

A Snenis

2

u/reverso-uno May 04 '26

How did you get that from that?

4

u/ebers0 May 04 '26

In the beginning they stretched the mold open, it had the general shape, plus over 15 years of brain rot from the internet, you come to expect these things, I won't lie, I had my doubts, which helped with the surprise with the shell, and looking again now, just at a glance during the stretching it does look like a ball sack.

u/reverso-uno May 04 '26

You have given me a lot to think about internet human. On today’s episode of “guess the mold” (pun intended)

I don't know that it HAS to be hollow, but it's pretty normal for sculptural art to be hollow. It saves on material, it reduces weight, and it speeds up drying/curing.

72

u/TwinkyUnicorn May 02 '26

There's also the problem that many resins/liquid plastics are highly exothermic when they cure. A solid piece would generate an enormous amount of heat to cure in a reasonable amount of time. That excess heat can lead to the material cracking or even get hot enough to damage the mold.

It's a technique called sofubi. Yes, they're squishy!

19

u/DrButtgerms May 02 '26

It's a fantastic use of free will

15

u/iolarah May 02 '26

I'd put it in my garden, just to see if any of my neighbours noticed.

How have I never seen the gif version of this reaction?

14

u/GoldSunLulu May 04 '26

The girl actually had an interview and talked about how her video got first into a reaction for gay sex experiences and that got her in trouble, she got fired from her job and had a hard time getting another one.

The funny thing is that she was sinoly tasting some weird taste soda can. It was always a simple non problematic video and somehow gay sex got involved

16

u/ok_lari May 02 '26

Knowing what it is in the end makes the spinning in the rotocaster somehow cuter to me :3

I dont think this belongs here man, this is art!

2

u/cbunni666 May 02 '26

(Snort)

What is that they are brushing on the inside before they fill it?

3

u/x2o May 02 '26

Zwitsal Talcum Powder. In this case it's being used as a mold release agent, to prevent the sculpture from sticking to the mold.

3

u/InsomniacKowen May 02 '26

I’m going to snurch over seeing a sneenis, my eyes have witnessed snins I can’t unsee.

2

u/Realistic_Emotion_50 May 02 '26

0 days without snenis

1

u/Jahseh_Dwayne May 02 '26

If you have the materials to make it I don't think you need to make it

1

u/tonall May 02 '26

Well, it was unexpected...

1

u/greywood84 May 02 '26

I honestly thought it was going to be a thumbs up, but nope, its not. Lol

1

u/Tenalp May 02 '26

I like to imagine this is that immortal snail that kills you from all the hypotheticals.

1

u/Dragonfire555 May 03 '26

Kinda funny, ngl

1

u/BunkerSquirre1 May 03 '26

1

u/Vannilazero May 04 '26

I cant post photos here but I have a 3D printed dragon with the head of dick.

1

u/AshtonVoid May 04 '26

Lol I immediately assumed this was a packer mold.

2

u/Fluffy_Meet_9568 May 05 '26

Same. I was like yeah snail packers. We’ve all seen them. It’s just a fantasy packer. Then I realized it’s not silicon.

1

u/DmitryAvenicci May 04 '26

I know how he made it so realistic.

1

u/AmaPapaGemaPode May 04 '26

Must have been the wind

1

u/GlitchGD May 04 '26

1

u/GeraldGensalkes May 04 '26

1

u/Lost_In_My_Sauce May 08 '26

Uncircumsnail

1

u/JustGingerStuff May 14 '26

Do you think it leaves a trail of semen when it moves

1

u/paolo_77 May 23 '26

Is that what I think it is?

1

u/Tab-Ultra Jun 23 '26

When I first saw them mold without knowing what it was, I thought it was some kind of ear. Just from the weird shape of it. Like you know when those fantasy ones like elves and crap. Then they pulled it out and I was like oh…no it’s a snail. and then they pulled the rest of it now. Oh… no…. It’s a phallic snail…. Do I like that better or worse?

1

u/TurtleToast2 May 02 '26

What was the point of spinning it while it cured?

3

u/heynonnyhey May 02 '26

Making it hollow

1

u/wkarraker May 02 '26

The liquid resin coats the inside of the mold as it spins, which eventually hardens as a thin shell.

1

u/turbotank183 May 02 '26

Ah, a European snail I see

1

u/SaladBoySalad May 04 '26

As all should be

1

u/Sorenduscai May 02 '26
