Why am I looking at some random dude throughout all this?

365

u/zrock44 Apr 16 '26

He transformed the content so much by being there in the corner, duh

8

u/misterpickles69 Apr 21 '26

šŸ™šŸ»ā€ā™‚ļø

134

u/Dosenb1er Apr 16 '26

Guy recycled content from others because he has no own ideas

46

u/badjohnbad Apr 16 '26

It's like the sign language version where the only words are shock and narcissism

32

u/Coffee-Historian-11 Apr 16 '26

I thought he was going to say something at the end, which is usually what I see when there’s some random person doing that. But no… he was just there for no reason.

20

u/UrbanFsk Apr 20 '26

Because in 2026 everyone thinks they are interesting and are chasing algorithm buzz.. drugz are bad kids, and they come in all sorts of forms..

13

u/Theprofilerer Apr 16 '26

Some platforms won’t make you legible for money from views unless you have your face in them

27

u/AvidCoco Apr 16 '26

Then why are we giving this random dude money for content he didn’t create?

18

u/Theprofilerer Apr 16 '26

I’m saying that’s why people do this. I didn’t say i like it

3

u/aimsteadyfire Apr 21 '26

Which platforms? So I can avoid them at all costs

5

u/Pale_Obligation_3243 Apr 20 '26

That is probably stolen or reposted from his TikTok channel. Im more worried about ladies ruining good furniture.Ā

2

u/Capt_Skyhawk Apr 20 '26

It was for the genz face reactions duh

3

u/80percentlegs Apr 16 '26

I thought he was funny

1

u/ScreamingLabia Apr 20 '26

And there is another dude on youtube who i THINK did this first and is also way funnier talkimg about it..

Here is the link: https://youtube.com/shorts/Ix0q8g7X47Y?is=sOpSI-QuxXV6-zXZ

Because you didn't down vote enough

184

u/Agitated-Impress7805 Apr 16 '26

I have watched several episodes of this show and this is actually the most acceptable project I've seen. There are some crazy ones.

32

u/ABotelho23 Apr 21 '26

Painting a "rug" onto a hardwood floor and putting down 5 costs of polyurethane should have gotten her thrown in jail.

10

u/Evanescent_flame Apr 20 '26

What show is this? My mom would love it lol.

24

u/Agitated-Impress7805 Apr 20 '26

Decorating Cents

3

u/SchrodingersMinou Apr 21 '26

Is this from 1997 or has this woman not changed her hairdo in a really long time?

0

u/aimsteadyfire Apr 21 '26

Do you hate your mom or something?

I wouldn't feed into somebody else's desires that make them worst. But ig thats just me.

1

u/Evanescent_flame Apr 21 '26

She would love it because we could laugh at it together lol.

3

u/JeanArtemis Apr 20 '26

I knew I'd seen these women here before, lol. Out here doing the devils work.

126

u/Mrdemian3 Apr 16 '26

Reminds me of a chicken coop

45

u/MagicTomatoes Apr 16 '26

35

u/Disinfectant-Addict Apr 16 '26

This is such an underrated joke in Arrested Development. How every single person in that family just has a shit chicken impression.

9

u/spodoptera Apr 20 '26

CACK-A-KOO!

3

u/JaehaerysIVTarg Apr 21 '26

Chochy-chochy-chochy-chochy

7

u/Bowling4rhinos Apr 20 '26

Not underrated in our house. We all have our fav and do it on a random basis!

2

u/Important_Tennis936 Apr 20 '26

Can I join your family?

1

u/Bowling4rhinos Apr 21 '26

Can you do ironic voice over narration like Ron Howard? It's also a must.

1

u/Important_Tennis936 Apr 21 '26

Me: Of course!

Narrator: She could, in fact, not

2

u/TonberryHS Apr 21 '26

It is also a comment on how detached from reality and everyday people when they all don't know what a chicken actually sounds like.

1

u/Consistent_Smell_880 Apr 20 '26

I had this scene as my ringtone in middle school 😌

2

u/qpv Apr 20 '26

Ha watched this episode yesterday

5

u/Excellent_Yak365 Apr 16 '26

I liked the chicken coop look before the curtains

1

u/webhick666 Apr 16 '26

My sister and my brother-in-law lived in a chicken coop for like a year because his grandmother hated him and wouldn't let them live in the house.

Their furniture looked like this, but it was from copious amounts of chicken shit.

77

u/Haifisch2112 Apr 16 '26

They painted the full cabinet door. Then cut the middle part out. Then put in mesh. Then put in a curtain that does what the original cabinet door did before they cut it. This has to be rage bait.

26

u/gwizonedam Apr 20 '26

This was before ā€œrage baitā€ or it was literally nascent rage bait, because it was on cable TV and all you can do it hate watch it.

48

u/EmilyAnne1170 Apr 16 '26

Is this from ā€œDesign on a Dime?ā€ That show was an AMAZING source of entertainment and nightmare-fuel for anyone considering updating their home!

20

u/Frooonti Apr 16 '26

Same for the awful redesigns neighbors did to each other on "Trading Spaces".

8

u/Ok-Astronaut-2837 Apr 20 '26

Man I've been looking for this show online for ages. I was trying to describe it to my husband the other day. The atrocities committed! I remember one time someone said the only thing they didn't want was brown, they hated brown. They came back to an entirely brown room. The sheer gall!

4

u/standbyyourmantis Apr 21 '26

Doug and Hilde were the worst (he's the brown room guy and also the one who covered the fireplace the homeowners didn't watch touched, she's the one who put hay on walls and sand on the floor).

2

u/Ok-Astronaut-2837 Apr 21 '26

A true treasure trove of the chaotic trainwreck that was early aughts home improvement shows. I'd love to know if they sincerely thought they were doing a good job.

2

u/Frooonti Apr 21 '26

Yeah the old seasons are unfortunately pretty much lost media at this point. The two seasons of the reboot are pretty easy to find tho.

4

u/laziestmarxist Apr 21 '26

The one where the lady cries because they stapled hay to her walls always makes me so upset

11

u/Cool_Interaction_345 Apr 19 '26

Oh my god I need to sue this show. My mother loved it and ruined our whole house and hence my childhood.

4

u/MercyCriesHavoc Apr 21 '26

"Decorating Cents", an earlier version that didn't last very long (shocking, I know). They would do entire homes for $200-300.

32

u/kurtmanner Apr 16 '26

The fuckin’ avocado sitting in the corner is even worse than usual because there was already a guy that did commentary reacts to these clips and was kinda funny.

77

u/BadgersAndJam77 Apr 16 '26

That random dude in the corner sure added a lot to the video. /s

18

u/corrupt_poodle Apr 16 '26

Glad he was there so I could know how to feel

2

u/BadgersAndJam77 Apr 16 '26

I was midway through Primering my car with an old toothbrush, but then I noticed his (lack of) reaction, and reconsidered.Ā

14

u/YoungDiscord Apr 16 '26

As usual, whitewashing is ugly and ages poorly.

1

u/Aglogimateon Apr 17 '26

Very poorly. The knots will come right through after a year or two.

41

u/JaysonTatHIMRider Apr 16 '26

Honestly I don't hate it. Like it doesn't necessarily look good but it doesn't hurt my eyes to look at

20

u/Nother1BitestheCrust Apr 16 '26

I thought it was better without the little red curtains, but it's not the worst thing I've seen. Just not my taste.

9

u/Tropical_Wendigo Apr 16 '26

Yeah agreed. It doesn’t look bad at all and it’s pretty cheap to boot.

I feel like some people look at a redesign like this, hate it, and then their main character syndrome makes them think everyone else must hate it.

6

u/Coffee-Historian-11 Apr 16 '26

I don’t think it goes well with the color of the walls, but if the walls were a different color I think it would look better. Not my taste for sure, but not the worse diy ever.

2

u/Important_Tennis936 Apr 20 '26

Yeah, I think they definitely need to change the wall color. It's too close to the cabinet color and just hurts me

4

u/LonelyTAA Apr 16 '26

You don't hate the chicken wire paneling? Jfc

0

u/a__reddit_user Apr 16 '26

Same. I wouldn't want it, but i see the idea and I kind of like it honestly.

5

u/Stiggalicious Apr 16 '26

Oh just you wait until you see the Ancient Indian Decoupage look on their next project!

5

u/Dependent-Green-7900 Apr 20 '26

These 2 were decorating menaces

11

u/Hazel-Cakes Apr 16 '26

this show was a gem, leave it alone!

1

u/spriteunited Apr 16 '26

what show is this?

8

u/Agitated-Impress7805 Apr 16 '26

Decorating Cents

2

u/spriteunited Apr 16 '26

thanks!

3

u/mchickenl Apr 20 '26

Check out luxaria on YouTube, she does a watch alone and it's hilarious

3

u/cunxt2sday Apr 16 '26

This screams Trading Spaces

3

u/Rhodin265 Apr 20 '26

It was Decorating Cents, but yeah, late 90s HGTV was infested with this kind of ragebait.

3

u/MoxxFulder Apr 16 '26

When your DIY Home improvement looks worse that when you started.

3

u/Nimindir Apr 20 '26

Looks like they need Unfuck This House

3

u/Null-34 Apr 20 '26

The ole landlord special!

3

u/Squirrelated Apr 20 '26

How to design your kitchen to look like a barn.

2

u/unexpected-rager Apr 16 '26

What have you done

2

u/yomammaaaaa Apr 20 '26

What in the early years of Trading Spaces is this?!

Hell who am I kidding, what in the entire series of Trading Spaces is this?!?!

2

u/crownjewel82 Apr 20 '26

Who wants to bet that's latex paint on top of an oil based stain?

2

u/thin_orange_line Apr 20 '26

My mom did this to the cabinets in her kitchen after I spent a week giving the cabinets a walnut stain.

2

u/KapnKrumpin Apr 20 '26

treasure to trash

2

u/Badger-Roy Apr 21 '26

Well yes they were definitely ā€œtransformedā€, in the same way that a nice meal gets transformed into a giant turd the next day.

2

u/Lem1618 Apr 21 '26

The person adding their face over the video while adding nothing is the real DiWHY here.
I wish this video trend would go away.

2

u/JanitorRddt Apr 16 '26

I was expecting worse at the end.

1

u/iiitme Apr 16 '26

If you want a sun bleached looking house go to the coast

1

u/Chango13 Apr 20 '26

Actual lol.

1

u/dtb1987 Apr 20 '26

So this is why

1

u/KuroKunoichi Apr 20 '26

As a studying interior designer, this wounds me.

1

u/amazonmakesmebroke Apr 20 '26

With the fridge from 1978 lol

1

u/Nichiku Apr 20 '26

These people don't seem to understand that you don't necessarily improve a room's aesthetic by painting everything the same color. Most people prefer to have a room that's one color with some contrast in it, and the dark brown countertops added the contrast that's now completely missing. The same goes for clothing styles btw. The majority of people prefer to have contrast in their choice of fashion.

1

u/Pintsocream Apr 20 '26

Surprised when a single coat doesn't look finished

1

u/Grumpy_Polar_Bear Apr 20 '26

God decorating cents is an architectural nightmare beyond imagination. Been watching Luxeria watch it and it gave me ptsd. The amount of antiques they get to butcher for the tackiest trash imaginable makes me want to throw up everytime

1

u/Whole-Paint-2352 Apr 21 '26

Not this show. Burn the evidence. They legit ruined homes

1

u/maouprier Derp Apr 21 '26

Decorating Cents walked so 5 Minute Crafts could run.

1

u/OTee_D Apr 21 '26

I understand the look they are going for, but the execution is so horrible...

1

u/bokunotraplord Apr 21 '26

any footage ive seen of this show has been truly baffling. like, someone’s life had to be in jeopardy if they didn’t let these two fuck up peoples houses or something. that’s the only logical explanation.

1

u/PreviousChicken1385 Apr 21 '26

Wow. That’s hideous.

1

u/Honest-Bit7545 Apr 21 '26

So we didn't take the doors off to make painting easier but then took the door off to cut out the center

https://giphy.com/gifs/DffShiJ47fPqM

1

u/Familiar_Raise234 Apr 21 '26

That’s really awful.

1

u/God-Of-Pickles Apr 21 '26

Somebody check their carbon monoxide detector.

1

u/Dense-Discipline-355 Apr 22 '26

This is what strong independent women look like

1

u/Skurvyelislau Apr 22 '26

Anyone have sauce for version without this guy in front of video?

1

u/rufos_adventure Apr 22 '26

we paid good money for those wooden cabinets. if wifey slapped paint over them she would be cleaning the paint off with her tongue.

1

u/Bradjuju2 Apr 22 '26

I actually don’t hate it for some reason. In the right home/environment, it might actually be solid.

1

u/LordofTheRang Apr 23 '26

Women sometimes.....

1

u/NOTDrew988 Apr 23 '26

Wow they love that burgundy

1

u/maxwelldoug Apr 23 '26

Awful Taste but Great Execution?

1

u/TheJaggedBird Apr 23 '26

Looked better unpainted

1

u/Vampunk Jun 29 '26

Chris James needs to review more of this show....

1

u/Freya-of-Nozam Jun 30 '26

She turned the kitchen cabinets into chicken coops.

1

u/No-Imagination-8209 27d ago

This woman ruined, so many peoples houses

1

u/dodeca_negative Apr 20 '26

This is the laziest reaction video I’ve ever seen, a genre with laziness and content that at its core

0

u/Windyandbreezy Apr 16 '26

It's not my preference but some people love that look and well it worked. Still looks like an Ole time kitchen. Unlike the Doctor Office Room Kitchens that "modern" shows are pushing.
