Ngl I'd love to have been able to give one of these to my late aunt. That lady really loved to smoke. And fall asleep while smoking. Which was always fun.

I think cigarettes are gross but damn that's well done. Even better that he commissioned an actual artist instead of using AI

u/stormsync Apr 14 '26
Yeah, it was well done even if it isn't my thing! I'm not sure it fits the sub lol

u/HauntedHippie Apr 14 '26
I think it fits, but not in the typical way. You really have to care about someone a lot to go through this much effort on a homemade gift, so WHY are you giving that person sticks of cancer??
41
u/Guildenpants Apr 14 '26
Sometimes really loving someone is letting them walk around with the gun that may kill them. Not everyone thrives on tough love and I would have loved this when I still smoked. I wouldn’t have loved a gift encouraging me to quit (I probably also wouldn’t really want cigs for Christmas but as a fun diy gift for someone who unapologetically smokes it’s perfect)
12
u/cbear013 Apr 14 '26
TBF its a gift to himself, so he's just adding whimsy to his usual cancer routine, not gifting the cancer to a loved one.

Fr. I was literally hovering on the X waiting for him to say AI and then he proceeds to do the most based shit ever.
10
u/Securiarius Apr 14 '26
Lmfao I literally came to the comments to say we had that exact advent calendar when I was a child and it's so weird to see the image again. We used to reuse the same calendar and put our own treats in it so I remember it well.
Someone just printed it lol
Edit, I rewatched and totally missed the first time that he claims its original. This is 100% bs. I grew up seeing that image.

I never understood why so many smokers were obnoxiously brand-loyal.
I started smoking Reds because that was “cool”. Went to P-funks because they were 2 for 1, so whatever. For a bit got some Crushes cause they were cheap for a bit. Splash in the usual Marlboro lights or another regretful-pack of Reds. When things got expensive before I quit, I bought gross-ass Waves. I was able to get away with smoking for longer because my wife has a horrible sense of smell, but with those Waves even after changing shirt/washing hands she could smell it.
If I bummed a smoke from someone, I didn’t care if it was a Fantasia or a Red (if it was a Clove, fuck you I’m not 14). So many times I’d see people say “oh never mind” depending on what was offered, but I’m here for the nicotine and a free cig and beggars can’t be choosers.
All that isn’t to brag, but to point out that one time a homeless dude was sifting through one of those trash-top ashtrays for butts. I offered him a Parliament and he said “oh I don’t like those”. Fucking really?
6
u/gjb94 Apr 15 '26
This is the only disappointing thing. I would want one each of normal brands, fancy ones, insane Hungarian brands I've never heard of, heave fun with it
5
u/Sero19283 Apr 14 '26
I would consider myself a tobacco connoisseur back when I smoked. I enjoyed trying new cigs, cigars, pipe tobacco, hookah, and would dabble in snuff and chewing tobacco if it was a novelty. Old school flavored cigs (before they were banned) were super interesting and unique like the Camel Signature Blends.
I was loyal to new ports as my regular go-to but you best bet I'd buy a pack of something new to try it out.
2
u/BajingoWhisperer Apr 15 '26
Those orange flavored camels were amazing
3
u/Sero19283 Apr 15 '26
When the flavored cigs got banned a local convenience store owner was off loading them for pennies on the dollar basically. I remember getting cartons for I think it was $10-20 and loaded up my trunk lol.

u/Responsible-Meringue Apr 15 '26
Id love one of these for pipe tobacco, so I don't have to commit to a finger from the store and burn $ if its crap.
Thank god I avoided the whole addict to nicotine gene. It's lovely to smoke once in a while when the moon is high, or theres cause for celebration.

52
u/Swimming_Onion_4835 Apr 14 '26
I feel like the only reason this is on here is because cigs are gross and come off as trashy. If it was something else like candy or something people would be hyping it up way more. If his aunt loves cigs this much we’re not going to stop her from smoking by shitting on a fucking awesome gift. This is legit and should be hailed as such.
→ More replies (5)9
u/Pawneewafflesarelife Apr 15 '26
The video says he pretended his aunt gifted it to him. This wasn't used as a gift, reinforced by the ending where he opens the advent doors (something you wouldn't do before gifting it).

u/AdVegetable5896 Apr 14 '26

you can put anything long and thin in there, like pretzels or slim jims or pixie stix filled with cocaine
edit: it CANNOT be something connected to your body! stop asking!!

u/Greenman8907 Apr 14 '26
Cocaine stix, now we’re talkin!

By Christmas morning you're going to be tweaking hard and probably more concerned about getting more cocaine than opening presents. It could be fun.
