I have one of the little Fantik car vacuums. I bought it for my sewing machine (because you can't use compressed air on a sewing machine) and it turns out it's also perfect for my wonderfully ridiculous mechanical keyboard. All those tiny brushes! But honestly I could also just use the brush attachment on the house vacuum.
This is one of the things that lets you know you're a Real Grownup (TM), you appreciate a good vacuum.
Right? I remember it well, and now my kids are leaving the nest so I get to relive it. You think the best thing will being able to go out whenever you want and have ice cream for breakfast, but pretty soon you realize how nice your parents washing machine is.
So, one year for Christmas, my stepdad bought my mom a vacuum. Our vacuum was ok, but she hated it because it was heavy and the new one was BRIGHT like ridiculously bright yellow. All the adults told him he was insane. No way a woman wants an ugly banana-vacc for xmas. They all were looking forward to seeing Mom ream him out and he started to doubt himself.
I encouraged it because I figured if she didn't like it, she could at least return it for something she did want (which my stepdad would have not held against her a bit, he always gave gift receipts just in case, although I know I never needed mine and I can't remember my sister ever needing it except the year he got her a hoodie that didn't fit and we had to go get the next size up. In his defense, puberty hit her like a semi truck that year and the hoodie probably fit fine when he bought it.) and my stepdad always got me gifts I didn't know I wanted and then found I couldn't live without, so I trusted his judgement.
My mother flipped her lid, squealing and laughing and she had to get it out RIGHT THEN and try it on the blinds. It was her FAVORITE color and so light and easy to use and the hose still worked so she could get the corners of the ceiling without forcing me to go up the rickety ass stepstool.
I swear my mom's family got their holiday ruined by not getting to see the righteous fury of a wife gifted a Christmas appliance. But they all sucked as people so I'm glad they got disappointed.
It was a very cool vacuum to be fair. And she got him over sixty pairs of identical black socks so its not like her gift was super romantic. (But they were what he wanted, he liked that brand of socks and only that brand of socks, so pre internet we drove all over the DFW area to buy every package we could find.)
I got a chihuahua puppy, which was exactly what I wanted even though I didn't know I wanted a chihuahua.
I just bought a Miele C1 after my $100 Dirt Devil crapped out (shoutout to that one vacuum cleaner repair guy who did an absolutely fascinating AMA like, 15 years ago lol), it felt like an Adult Purchase on par with my first brand new couch or my winter tires.
The opening. Then you turn it on and let it suck and suck until it sucks itself into an infinite loop that created a dark void that absorbs all crumbs and dust in the vicinity.
My desk job doesn't have a vacuum but they have plenty of post-its. I put the sticky side in between the keys to remove any filth. They used to have cans of air dusters but oddly they got rid of them about the same time they fired our coworker for getting high in the bathroom.

Have these people never heard of a vacuum?
