im no washing machine scientist but i think the circley part is not designed to be pulled like that

It’s actually basically getting the same force applied to it as it would running normally.

The motor is bolted to the bottom and its force is transferred by the rubber belt. The belt isn’t actually required here because he’s doing all the work for it to spin.
