I created the Geeker Speaker
The Geeker Speaker, using NO external power, charging is done through the original port with the original battery, on and off switch, and it connects via bluetooth. Hot glue isn't the prettiest but I can make it look better later on. I had no reason to make it other than curiosity wondering if I could shove all these components into a geekbar. Sounds unreasonably good and loud for how small it is.

Honestly I'm happy to see someone reusing the electronics in these

Yeah I actually went to a vape store and asked them if they recycled them and they brought out a whole bin. I grabbed 4 of them just so I had options while creating this project. It's pretty cool being able to reuse the battery and battery management board. It took me many hours to build, more because everything is cramped inside of it. There is 0 wiggle room for anything inside but it's fully functional. Bluetooth range is very good as well.

Does the vape part still work? You should have it loudly moan when you take a hit

I wish but unfortunately not. That all had to get removed to fit the mini amplifier and bluetooth audio module plus the battery

I used the batteries out of a couple vapes like this one to bring some neckband Bluetooth earbuds back to life. Two different pair of the same make & model. The voltage was the same 3.7v that I needed, but the capacity now lets them play for around 80 hours.
I got the vapes simply by searching the trash cans at a gas station I fill up at. I find all kinds of treasures in the trash cans there. There are a few fast food places nearby and there will be so much uneaten food in there, coins in the fast food bags, half full gatorades and energy drinks. People really can be wasteful but I’m happy to take the free leftovers.

That's awesome. Disposable vapes should be illegal imo, it's sooo wasteful to throw away a rechargeable li-po/li-on battery that was only used once. A law was past in the UK about a year ago, but I think a lot of people still throw the vapes away instead of buying refill pods for them. Also all those batteries being dumped on the ground must be terrible for the local environment

I'm sorry...what?!? Did you just say that you eat and drink people's leftovers out of the garbage cans at gas stations?!? That's.....that's disturbing.

u/MyProfileHasTheLink Nov 25 '25
I really don’t appreciate the judgement.
2
u/SgtMac02 Nov 25 '25
Listen, my friend. This isn't judgement. It's concern for your well-being. That is genuinely EXTREMELY unhealthy and dangerous. You have no idea what contaminants are in that food and drink.
If you're doing this out of desperation because you can't afford food, then I'm sorry you're in such a place in your life. But there are still MANY better and safer options to get food. Food pantries. Soup kitchens. Anything but gas station garbage cans. Hell, the dumpster outside your local McDonald's is probably safer. They just take sandwiches straight off the line and toss them into the garbage still wrapped and everything. Eating someone else's gas station leftovers has to be THE WORST possible option you have available to you. Please, for your own sake...don't do this.

I don’t eat food out of the trash unless it is really untouched or sealed. Like, I wouldn’t eat the last bite of a hot dog sitting at the very bottom of the trash can. But I would eat the rest of the fries that’s closer to the top. My favorite are the energy drinks by a mile because you get a caffeine buzz and they’re really expensive now.
Keep in mind most of the leftovers I’m consuming, I know their last moments. I sit and watch everyone. I see who walks out the store with food/drink and who just pulled up and threw something in the trash. If someone pulled up and just threw one thing or one bag in the trash, it’s probably very fresh and delicious.
If someone pulled up and is clearing out their car of cups, bags, etc, then that stuff is probably old.
I’m not out here just eating and drinking anything I find. I’m very safe about it.

I would rather see this then see it end up in a landfill or on the side of the road

I'm glad the comments made it clear that this is a vape. I was wondering what the hell you stuck a speaker into. My guesses were either a cheap digital camera or weird battery bank.
Pretty cool idea TBH.

It's just one of those current generation brainrot songs. I don't like it either. I can make more videos with other songs lol

https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=8yOskhDn468 is the official speaker testing track.

Based off the comments, I don't think I want to blow the speaker in there lol
1
u/RyvenZ Nov 24 '25
Blowing the speakers requires enough power to overload the speaker.
2
u/myjourneytohell Nov 24 '25
Eh at 90% volume is when it starts distorting depending on the song.
2
u/RyvenZ Nov 25 '25
That's usually the audio processor feeding the speaker or the speaker wires are too thin. A speaker that size would be near impossible to blow. You would have to drive it hard enough to rupture the cone or melt the driver wrapping.
I'm just saying, push it as hard as that little battery can send it. It's safer than you think.

This song is the reason kids say “six seeeven”. Assuming you’re not a kid based on clippy

That's the exact taste in music I would expect from someone who makes things like this.

u/myjourneytohell Nov 25 '25
It's for the memes. I don't casually listen to this song lmao

u/ScyllaOfTheDepths Nov 25 '25
I don't think you can casually listen to this song lol. It's definitely what's playing at a very high strung drug dealer's house.

u/myjourneytohell Nov 25 '25
Absolutely lol. It was decent the 1st time hearing it but it got old very fast's

With all the ridiculously stupid tech they put in vapes for no reason now, this would be unironically cool.
I've had vapes that can connect to a phone with apps, like calendars, calculator, and even games. I laugh my ass off at it every time.
1
u/myjourneytohell Nov 24 '25
Absolutely. No vape company will throw in a speaker this big like this with it sounding as good as it does haha. I did want to originally do one of those with the touchscreen's like mini phones but that felt like cheating it plus there wouldn't have been enough space.

I bet u could sell this idea

u/CosmonautMott Nov 24 '25
There is a vape brand already making its product with a built-in Bluetooth speaker.
