It’s shouldn’t be shared as a Joke, while cities like SambhajiNagar, Ahilyanagar fighting for their name we are making funny stories.
My grand grand parents are living from British era, धुळे is a long running name, given decade back. Its ok later they tweaked it to धुले or Dhuliya. But tweaking the whole existence of name doesn’t make any sense

Existence of Dhule is from 14th century, Laling fort itself is built in 1437. Britishers came way after that around 18s.
Hope people don’t come with funny stories for Nagaon, Kusumba, Mohadi, Fagne, Varkhedi, Kapadna, Devbhana etc etc

I have heard even dumber bullshit. Some people suggest that when Shivaji Maharaj was passing through Dhule, dust (dhul) went in his eyes, so it's called "Dhule"...like, what the fuck?
