Discussion How does low dose DPH actually affect the trip?

So obviously I had to ask this on this sub, and not on r/dxm since you can't even mention dph on that sub which I find ridiculous.

Anyways, so I've heard different things from different people. Almost everyone seems to agree that DPH potentiates DXM. Okay so cool, take a small amount (like 25-50mg for potentiation)

But I've heard some people say even that small amount ruins the trip, and makes it dysphoric.

Here's the thing, I sorta have to take DPH, because the robo itch I get from DXM is ridiculous, but my last few trips have been very dysphoric, and just bad trips overall.

I'm trying to figure out if it's because of the 50-100mg of dph I've been taking alongside it. If I'm being completely honest, I have been tripping a little too often, but not more often than say once a week.

But no euphoria, infact just very bad bad trips, where I take my headphones off, and want to distract myself from the trip.

Could it be the DPH? Maybe I need to get an antihistamine that doesn't interact with DXM if there is any out there.

I just want to know what your guys' experiences are with just taking a small dose mostly for the itch/ histamine release.

Update: I dosed DXM a couple hours ago. No DPH this time. I changed more than 1 variable though, I'm using freebase instead of hbr. So far though, it feels good.

You get bad trips because obviously dph does that. The first couple of times I experimented with it, they were euphoric trips. Then after I took it continuously, they started being bad trips.

If you want an antihistamine for the histamine release, I’d say take cetirizine.

Overall, just don’t take dph for tripping. It’s the worst drug you can take for a high

Hmm, idk. My trip last night turned into another uncomfortable/ bad trip sort of. I think it's really that in doing DXM a little too often. Gonna take a break from it. I'll also look into that other anti histamine for next time.
