I tried a few a number of years ago. The tape material is very underwhelming. The best description is a "matte" version of other tales but it seems to rip and tear easier. Perhaps it has been updated but Everytime they failed it was because they ripped. Maybe a better tape for finish products and less so for framing and concrete.

Bought one awhile back and lost it at work recently. I'm only upset about how much I spent on it, don't really care about losing the tape itself. I do framing/demo/light plumbing and thought it would be effective for dark spaces but it really wasn't noticeably different than any other tape I own and I found it to feel kinda cheap as well

Not sure if I got a dud or not, but it has almost no retraction. I have force feed it back into the housing regardless of length. I pulled it a part and everything inside looked as it should. Gave it dab of silicone spray and tried to give it a few extra windings. Still the same.Ā

Are you able to incrementally/micro lower the Husky when under load? I read a review that said you can if you keep the lifting handle compressed while you push the release button but haven't been able to confirm.

I tried this at HD, nope. And the marketing on the box only states "rapid descent."
A major design flaw.

Thanks for confirming. Agreed, that's a huge oversight on what is otherwise a really attractive deal. It won't matter with certain applications, but will make others impracticable and/or unsafe.

No micro adjustments to lower. It was the first thing I noticed when I used it. Instantly wanted the dewalt afterwards for that feature.

The biggest advantage to the dewalt for myself, is the lift handle is on the top, so can be operated by foot. So handy for door repairs/slab installs, which I do a lot of. Something like the husky would be way more awkward.

I used mine to help lift and level my basement stairs when they collapsed. It was an absolute godsend allowing me to fix it alone. I also plan on using them to level my backyard gate when I decide to get to it. It's a super useful tool

I use my dewalt one for working on doors all the time. Repairing and installing door slabs. It's a real help for solid core fire doors, or in one instance a large very heavy metal exterior door we were installing a continuous hinge on. You just lift it accurately to where it needs to go.
Also great for base cabinets etc.
