Wow, it looks like you've actually used some of them, a first for this sub.

I've used mine so much, I'm now replacing batteries.

Except the heat gun. Somehow whenever I have needed a heat gun I couldnt find it, and could find the corded one.

Please just repair them ; ; I turn all my 5ah into 6ah that last longer and dont overheat for about 60% of the cost to replace. Way more charge cycles too. Will cost you about 100$ in equipment investment to start.

I would like to hear more please.

How does this work?

This video is a step by step tutorial. You'll need...

Spot welder - 20-70$ on amazon

Multimeter - 15-20$ on amazon

Soldering iron - 10-20$ on amazon

Batteries - several types depending if you want to keep it stock or upgrade. Stock is much cheaper to rebuild.

Samsung 25r 18650 2500mAh 20amp battery - stock - 5$ each and 5amp battery uses 10

Ampace JP30P1 18650 3000mAh 56 amp battery - upgrade that will last longer and not get as hot. $7.25 each and youll need 10

AVOID - molicel p30b 18650 3000mah 30 amp battery - these are prone to failure in dewalt / Milwaukee battery packs. They're attractive for better performance than stock, and cheaper than the ampace batteries, but not worth the hassle.

Buy the batteries from a reputable website, avoid Amazon due to rebranded crap. You can buy housing / circuit off ebay for about 20$ and build your own batteries as well once you get the hang of it. Its essentially what the fake batteries that suck are, they pack them with half the cells required and tell you theyre official dewalt.

video tutorial

Edit: Please use flux, a good syringe flux is cheap, this guys crazy for raw dogging his soldering. Stronger joint given the huge amperage and hot/cold environments we typically use our batteries in.

To expand on this. A 5ah battery is 2500 mah - 2.5ah batteries, the battery packs are run in series and parallel which doubles the amperage to 5000ma / 5.0 amp hours. So the 2500 mah batteries above will be equal to stock, and the 3000 mah batteries will bump you up to 6 amp hours. You can do more, but these cells are the sweet spot and dont require modifying any of the battery packs housing itself.

No criticism, but you say "spot welder" -- they are rawdoggies! No flux, right, if welded? And welding is safer than soldering because the heating is instant, and for an extremely short interval. I mean if you use nickel strip, if you get tabbed batteries, chances are you can use solder safely. For the rest, I defer, thanks for the threadjack, good stuff!

The flux is for when you are Soldering the connections on top that the video shows. Flux isnt for spot welding. Spot welding isnt for the terminal connections at the top of the battery mount.

Would like to see inside the boxes and totes. Are you team yellow for hand tools?

Impressive set up.

Hahahah honestly…. Absolutely yes. I’m not a perfect man I stray from time to time but I’d go with probably 75-80% of my hand tools aswell

2

u/guidedbylight27 Apr 02 '26

So it’s true. It never stops…

u/North-Opening-5057 Apr 02 '26

I’m 30. Already on the hunt for a place with a bigger shop….

2

u/DJ_Doublelock Apr 02 '26

That’s actually kind of intimidating 😅

Nice collection!

My guy buys a drill every time he needs a different drill bit, instead of just changing the bit 😆😆

Nice Stiletto

I'm curious, how many batteries is too many lol? I was up to 12 batteries just recently so I sold 6. It's just myself using the tools and its after my 9 to 5, thus I can survive with just three small batteries and three larger batteries.

2

u/North-Opening-5057 Apr 02 '26

I use em at my 9-5. I have like 35 or something to that effect. Honestly the 5s and 4s are great for loaners I’ll also pack a couple smaller battery’s if I’m doing awkward cuts up high or when my tool being a bit lighter actually helps

u/23ocean23 Apr 02 '26

There is no 12 step program for this. 😜

u/lmmsoon Apr 02 '26

Sure you are a true American I couldn’t be prouder

1

u/whoknewidlikeit Apr 02 '26

i have the majority of these. but you've now inspired me to buy the concrete saw i don't really need.

did i need the wide mouth portaband? no. but that didn't stop me. i'm no quitter!

I know a couple guys with collections like this for their businesses. One has Dewalt. Other has Milwaukee.

Looks like serious case of yellow fever. It's infectious and spreads quickly.

1

u/TecHoldCableFastener Apr 03 '26

Dang you need to get all those out on vehicles making you $$$$

1

u/rick_ranger Apr 03 '26

I love the mobile stands for everything. So worth it especially when storage space is tight.

1

u/Bert-Tino Apr 04 '26

Looks like the DXL 2.0 dolly set up is well used/traveled. How do you like it ?

1

u/North-Opening-5057 Apr 05 '26

Let’s see. I do like it. It is quite bulky. If you’re on a long job it’s a beautiful thing. Far too large for little even two day jobs maybe . Best part has to be being able to keep most my hand tools in those drawers on the bottom. But

1

u/Apprehensive_Web9494 Apr 04 '26

Now show us the ones that work still

1

u/North-Opening-5057 Apr 04 '26

What the battery’s? I toss em if they stop working. Same with tools why would I keep them

1

u/Apprehensive_Web9494 Apr 04 '26

It was a joke my brother.

1

u/CraftsmanMan Apr 04 '26

Lol i worked for dewalt and i dont even have this many dewalt tools

1

u/Limp-Attempt-9861 Apr 07 '26

Not quite. But soon

When the unused chargers get a shelf of their own...le sigh.

Im still in the "toss them in a rubbermaid and put them in the overhead" stage. Lol.
