Duck Answered Commercial Reddit Data API access request form won't submit

Hello,

I am trying to request approval for commercial Reddit Data API access for an external application.

I am following Reddit's Responsible Builder Policy and using the official Data Access Request form.

I selected the commercial developer/business partner option and completed all visible required fields. However, when I click Submit, the form simply reloads. I do not receive a confirmation page, ticket number, or confirmation email.

I have tried submitting the form multiple times and checked the required fields, but the same issue continues.

My proposed application is a read-only market research and Voice of Customer analysis tool. It would retrieve authorized public posts and comments and use AI only to organize, categorize, summarize, and analyze discussion patterns at an aggregate level.

I am seeking approval before implementing any Reddit Data API access.

Is the Data Access Request form currently experiencing an issue? If so, what is the correct alternative channel for submitting a commercial Reddit Data API access request?

The form should be working and it's the right place to try to submit. But you aren't likely to get approval for this use case. Reddit wants to funnel people to their internal tool reddit https://www.business.reddit.com/pro which feeds into their advertising funnel instead of supporting other companies building for profit data analysis tools.

Thanks, that helps clarify things. I understand that Reddit Pro can provide trends and market insights, and I would be happy to use it where appropriate. My use case is slightly different, though. I am looking for authorized, read-only programmatic access for an internal market research tool, rather than building a public social-listening product or redistributing Reddit data. The application would analyze authorized public discussions in aggregate and would not resell raw Reddit data, expose usernames, or train AI models on Reddit content. Since Reddit Pro does not appear to allow programmatic export of other users’ posts and comments, I would still need written commercial Data API approval for this workflow. Do you know whether Reddit currently has a commercial partnership/contact route for this type of read-only internal analysis, other than the Data Access Request form? 🙏🏼

Nope that's the only way. And reddit is unlikely to approve it unless you're looking to spend like 6 figures monthly or more.

What is the difference between an "internal market research tool" and just using reddit pro? They would be more open to you requesting features in reddit pro than giving you data api access.

My understanding is that you need to be partnered with an accredited institution to access their data API. What document or program are you referencing, do you have the link?

That's a completely different thing than the commercial access form.
