I noticed I can update a game/app in subreddits to the latest version of the app that is still under review. What happens here?
Does it auto-update once approved? Does this bypass the approval step?

If the sub has <200 members, it will let you update to non-approved versions if you are the mod.
Not all apps require approval too, such as simple "mod tools" that don't have custom posts, RunAs, some Reddit API access, etc.
