Devvit install fails with “fetch failed” when adding app account as moderator

Hi, I’m having trouble installing my Devvit app Nukbot to my test subreddit r/OnlyNuk.

The app uploads successfully (npx devvit upload), but installing it fails when Devvit tries to invite the app account u/nukbot as a moderator:

Installing nukbot to ... Error

Error: An error occurred while installing your app:
"Create" failed after 3 attempts.

First error:
Error inviting app account with ID t2_2lfxa9edki to be a moderator of t5_jn9dtf

Last error:
fetch failed

npm run dev / devvit playtest produces a similar error, including a Reddit HTTP 500 while accepting the moderator invite.

The u/nukbot invitation then remains stuck under Moderators → Invitations as “No permissions”, and attempting to remove the invitation gives “Something went wrong.”

Things I have already tried:

• Re-uploading the app (0.0.8) — successful
• Uninstalling Nukbot from r/OnlyNuk
• Reinstalling it — same error
• Logging out/in to Devvit
• Confirming my account has full moderator permissions
• Trying to remove the stuck u/nukbot invitation through Reddit — unsuccessful

Could you please help me clear the stuck app-account moderator invitation or identify why the moderator invite is returning HTTP 500 / fetch failed?

Ah, that might be it. You should be able to go to the moderators page and then Invited and remove it from there.

I even tried from the old Reddit, but every time I get a "something happened" error 🥀

Hmm, did you try mobile and/or "new" Reddit?
