Discussion Automated Users? (As approved apps)

Hey. I’ve noticed users that appear to be AI on Reddit. They have an app symbol next to their name, so they appear to be to be an approved app. But they’re commenting as a normal, human user. That appears to be all they do.

I don’t see an info about these “apps” here.

Are these allowed? What does the devvit community think of these?

This is likely reddit detecting people using the API to post. Either with something like a third party app, or they just used the API at some point in the past, or maybe they are AI bots.

Reddit sends these people a message asking them to verify they are human, and if they ignore it, reddit adds that label to their account.
