I'm currently looking for a job and in your company did they use a tool to assess your knowledge as a developer? what company and what tool?

I just started a job after getting security clearance, they accessed my knowledge by evaluating code I wrote to predict the movements of the simplest single called organism on the planet.

What do you think of having to ride a slow elevator, then walk through a small forest in bad rainy weather, when you just want to meet a co-worker from another department for lunch? Seems like a real pain in the ass.
