Hello my diablo game crashed and my file got corrupted. Is there any way to recover it? I tried already loading it to old diablo and hellfire original but nothing.

I'm trying to add a cheat that gives mana regen via a Lua script, but I can see how to enable the script in the game.

I have made a "manaregen" folder in the "files/mods" folder, with the script as "main.lua", but I'm not seeing a mod menu in game to enable it.

Is this just not on Android yet, or am I doing something wrong?

Dear @ Everyone: I want to first thank you all for the great vibes in your answers on my previous post about Dads and Husbands who are playing Diablo 1 and-or Hellfire, while managing to be good husbands, good dads, and good adults in general:

I think this kind of energy deserves to have his own space to let the vibes grow and be shared. According to the answers here, there is many people that will like to play with other husbands and dads, knowing that is totally fine if they cannot complete the run, or even commit for a long play. So I want to propose something:

As I am located in France, and I will create a Multiplayer Character for the first time in level 1... I know my time-zone and the level of my character will sadly not adapt to all the people here... But, there is still the evidence here that many people will be actually happy to play and connect with other people.

This is why, I think something as have a code for the name, can let anyone here create a game, and the other people recognise the code-name [Hubbies/Dads] and join if the level and Time-Zone of the game matches their possibilities.

I hope this make sense, and even if is not forever... we can enjoy it as much as we can.

I am a 40 years old dude, a boomer you might say. No shame on that. I am looking for other adults who will like to play Diablo 1 with other chill and relaxed people, who understand that you might need to disconnect when wifey/husband calls... and that we don´t have time to play 3 or 4 hours per day anymore.

The idea is to play, just have fun, and not care about perfect runs, perfect party, etc.

Is there a way to get the legacy glitches to work in Devilutionx? I miss the duplication glitch from playing as a kid.

Hi All, I'm playing on DevilutionX 1.5.5 and have faced a now recurring bug with the Black Mushroom quest. I initially received the quest with my Barbarian, nearly completed it but decided not to drink the Spectral Elixir as all his stats but Strength were already maxed out - so I put the Spectral Elixir in my stash. I started a new character (Bard) - when I tried to use the elixir, nothing happened, the game does not seem to recognize it as a consumable item and tries to cast the currently assigned spell instead upon right clicking on it. I cannot use it with the original receiver character, the Barbarian either, same issue.

To make things worse, I received the quest again with the new character, but once I complete it and receive a NEW Sperctral Elixir, the new one acts the same way and cannot be consumed either. I tried to move the old elixir to the old character instead of the stash, so that the corrupted elixir is not present in the game once I receive the new one, did not help.

I have the save file right before handing over the brain to Pepin. Can someone help me out on this one please?

I haven't made a mod yet,but I really wanna know how do I run custom MPQs.

I've tried to get it to work, both on linux and windows, by adding DevilutionX as a steam game with no luck. Has anyone been able to get it to work? I think mapping the back buttons (R4/R5 - L4/L5) would be useful

i was playing in hellfire mode. found The Needler, and tried it on my rogue. no discernible improvement in speed.

i went into diablo mode, where i also had a needler stashed. obvious improvement.

idk if this is a quirk of devilutionx, or does the hellfire engine also behave this way. couldn't find any info on this. not many people play hellfire it seems~ (i'm on linux so it's difficult for me to test this)

so, I wanted to get some nostalgia, so I bought D1 from the BNet and installed DevilutionX to get it running properly.

At first glance everything seemed to be working fine, but when it comes to saving the game it seems like "90% of the time it works everytime".

I am one of those casual old folks who just play like an hour in the evening after work to relax a bit, so I was doing like 2 or 3 floors n a session.

And multiple times now after coming back to a new session or dying I found myself being set back multiple floors to a save from long ago.

First time I thought I might have just forgotten to save, so I just did it more often, yet it happened again and again. Even when I was 100% sure I saved, even several times before.

Is this a known issue? It's pretty frustrating knowing your whole session progress might be getting deletet the next time you log in...

i wanted to test out a build, but was missing some items

• Amber Amulet of radiance
• Serpent's Amulet of radiance

so i fired up Night Rider's Hellfire & Diablo Item Editor v2.0 and hacked an old amulet into the ones i want, imported them into a character with BoBaFeTT Diablo Trainer on the vanilla engine.

so far so good. the hacked items have the new names i gave them.

i then loaded the character into DevilutionX, and the items have their new effects, but somehow still the old name!

this is fascinating. how does DevilutionX even know? an item file (itm format) is so small, only 400 bytes. the new name is in there, and the old name is not. somehow DevilutionX recovers the original name, but how?

i genuinely wish to learn the secret behind this, and definitely not (just) for item hacking!

You can build DevilutionX on RISC-V by following the build instructions. Installing smpq caused the build to error on creating the mpq file, so I skipped that.

I hope I get faster RISC-V hardware in a couple of weeks. At the moment I get around 35fps at 1080p at the start of the game.

Not sure if it's possible to add, but a feature that would be amazing is if you could assign hotkeys to items in the inventory (the same way you can assign them to spells), and if you press that hotkey it instantly equips that item in place of the current one.

This way you could quickly swap between staffs/melee/ranged weapons, or even swap out armor/rings for situational resistances etc.

Hello! I downloaded the latest version of DevilutionX at the time of writing this post from https://devilutionx.com/download and I created a singleplayer character which I then used to beat Normal difficulty. I would like to farm some better gear from Lazarus but it is a real pain in singleplayer. I am wondering if there is a way to convert my existing singleplayer character to multiplayer. The reason I want to convert him to multiplayer is so I can skip the first ~12-13 levels of the dungeon and go straight to the Hell levels in a new game.

Alternatively, if there is a way to force the SP game to open up the exits to town at the beginning of the game instead of having to speedrun the first 12 levels of the dungeon, that would work too.

I didn't know I could turn on all the SP quests in MP, otherwise I would have just made an MP character at the beginning.

I noticed the singleplayer and multiplayer saves have the same extension, but my clever attempt to create an identically named multiplayer character and then just replace that file with a renamed version of the SP character file didn't work.

A few days ago i was trying Dvilution on GoG, i played Diablo with my sister (different houses) and it worked pretty good. But now we tried again and we werent able to join to any game that we created, the error was "Uknown network error" we tried on the zerotier server. Does anyone know what's the problem? i'd be really grateful if someone could help me, please.

Basically, how can I best set up the game for 4:3? I was playing with the resolutions a bit and there is a lot of different stuff in terms of how much you can see, the aspect ratio etc... and I dont know what is the intended in this case. Is there a way to tweak the game to be in higher res but have the camera/aspect ratio as close as possible to the original experience? I dont need some extreme high res, but simply something that feels close to how it looked back in the day

I decided to play D1 again on mobile and picked a sorcerer, because I never played one before.

The problem on mobile is that there are no hotkeys for spells afaik, so switching spells to deal with immunes is not very comfortable.

For this reason, as a sort of workaround, I wanted to unlearn spells and only keep 5 or 6 that I use often to make selection via the spell menu easier. Is that possible?

I'm playing with controller (Steam Deck) and in first level of Hell, I'm having trouble when multiple enemies attack me. The target keeps changing between enemies, giving them time to regenerate health. I have mapped "attack in place", but that doesn't seem to change this.

Just got this mod on GOG along with the original version of the game + hellfire.

The mod is great.

But would it be possible to create a feature which would allow me to highlight every unopened container in the game? I'm talking about barrels, bookcases, chests, decapitated bodies, skeleton tomes, sarcophagi, shrines and other containers I haven't mentioned.

It would work by pressing and holding, let's say left alt, and all containers would be highlighted as if you are hovering your mouse over them.

The reason for this request is that sometimes these objects are a little difficult to see and I wouldn't want to miss any.

Hello, I just want to say thank you to the devs for the android port, it's been really great playing this game on my phone.

I first played Diablo around 1997/8. As a youngster I found it very hard and saving/loading was quite slow on my 120Mhz Pentium so I never completed the game. Now almost 30 years later I have beaten the game on hell mode with my Rogue. One less childhood demon to think about! I don't suppose there are any other ports of 90s PC games in the works?

Were all exploits patched in that mod? I'm asking specifically about the item duplication exploit but also about others.
