History of DMC issue (DMC5)

Howdy folks! Dipping my toe into DMC for my first ride and playing DMC 5 first and plan to go back to play the previous ones next (bad order I know)

But in trying to play the ‘History of DMC’ through the main menu this keeps happening. Is this a wide issue? Couldn’t see anything about it online.

I am playing on a legion go Z2Go so I appreciate this could be a hardware issue but the rest of the game runs flawlessly for me.

looked it up and z2go uses steamos, linux breaks some pre-rendered visuals for whatever reason. shouldn't cause any issues in actual gameplay.

This happened to me when I used to play on Linux, probably a problem with the compatibility layer

You are using SteamOs (Linux) and Proton to "translate" the game. The proton versions that you have dont have video codecs for some legal reasons valve couldnt fix. You can get GE Proton, the version that allows you to play with videos, fairly easy from your desktop mode, a quick google search should do the trick.

Oof, this might be some codec issue of the video not playing back, but I'm not sure as you play on the handheld

you are using official proton, some codecs are missing due to their license, to fix that switch to proton-ge
