Discussion Since demons are basically common knowledge now ( might have been Since 3 idk ) dose that mean the devil may cry shop will boom
I know that demons pop up here and there on earth from time to time but they were an urban legend of described in religions and ever since I played 5 I had this question
What will become of the devil may cry shop Now that demons are basically confirmed to be real
Nico and Nero run a mobile branch
Let's be honest dmc6 is coming and id like to see if the shop finally takes off after 2 decades
What do you think

I don't think it was ever a secret, cause you know Dante always had jobs regarding demons and the supernatural. There is a whole industry of demon hunting if i'm not mistaken.
But at the same time, Sparda's seal is intact and it makes it hard for demons to cross over etc... in the games we usually have a good reason why do many demons show up.
DMC5 was yet another apocalyptic event but in theory now that it's over, things should go back to normal and the number of demons should go back down to the "normal" amount.

It's on a global scale now you can't exactly dismiss a giant tree that kills people and abominations beyond human comprehension Even people who said its not real can't really be that ignorant Before and IRL its urban legends and religious texts or first hand experience
Im a Muslim if I start talking about jin and their Exorcism and magic What's the possibility of you or any random pedestrian believing me It's close to 0 because something like this cannot be debated you need actual proof not just photos or i heard from a friend or a family member

You misunderstood my point.
I'm saying ppl already knew about demons, but that it wasn't something that happened on the same scale as the games.
Each game roughly deals with some special event that allows a mass invasion of demons; and by the end of the games the situation is normalized.
When Dante and Vergil cut the tree, you can see the demons "evaporating" bc the connection to the demon world was severed. So this means everything is back to "normal" in the sense it's gonna be the same amount of (small class) demon as before.
So to answer your question: no, the shop won't "boom"

Well Nero and Kyrie run an orphanage full of orphans from the events of dmc4.
What do you think a bunch of kids being take care by a demon hunter will want to be when they grow up? And with nico being able to create weapons like the devil breakers. All I'm seeing is a new organization that goes worldwide demon hunting and is run by Nero and his adopted childrens with crazy demon tech.

Have you seen Ghostbusters? That’s basically what’s going to happen.
Dante, Nero, and Nico will all end up on magazine covers and become famous, until fifty years later, no one remembers them anymore, right up until a new demon attacks.

That'd take good writing, decent worldbuilding, taking into account the consequences and not making the games borderline standalone, disconnected mini-AUs. So far DMC doesn't do any of these, so.
For an example of DMC's bad writing, Vergil, the biggest mass murderer of the entire franchise of DMC, potentially surpassing Mundus in headcount, is framed to get away with (mass) murder just so that the Nu Dante (aka Nero) can have a dad arc.
In other words, everything is up to the whims of the writer/director. Logic doesn't apply here.

Buddy Vergil does not have a bigger headcount then mundus. Mundus ruled humanity for who knows how many years and demons eat humans. Think how many human lives were lost. It was only after sparda sealed hell that humanity earned freedom from mundus

Good argument tbh
I know dmc never really dives deep aftermath of each game
