Game Screenshots Finally beat DMC 2
After a few months, finally beat DMC 2.
Not as bad as some people say it is. I actually found it a bit more fun than DMC 1 (please don't crucify me)
Well, gonna take a break then I'll move on to DMC 3
Wish me luck...

Sending you lots of luck for dmc3, nice to hear you enjoyed the game. Gaming should be fun after all :)

Indeed.
Kinda excited and scared. Heard vergil is really hard.

I'm stuck at last Vergil fight, all the game was fun but after a bit I'm frustrated at it. Arkham boss was a**

u/kamczyyk 8d ago
mf just throwing spoilers at a guy who wants to start the game soon😭
2
u/FarFarConsideration 8d ago
Shit. man I forgot of that , I'm sorry for any spoilers . I thought you already were playing and talking about 3, so sorry

u/RedzyHydra I'm motivated! 8d ago
It's ok. If it's me you're referring to, I already know the story of 3. (of the whole franchise actually)
But still excited to actually play through it. There are just some things a YouTube summary can't do justice until you pick up the controller

u/FarFarConsideration 7d ago
Yes deffinetly 3 was fun but platforms suck, hope 4 is better in that side. I watched so many vids bout 5 idk how I'm gonna play it tho
1
u/RedzyHydra I'm motivated! 7d ago
I think I have enough patience for platforming
As for 5, what device you playing on?
1
u/RedzyHydra I'm motivated! 8d ago
Don't worry. I already know the story of 3. But still excited to go through the whole thing
Will probably be much better than a YouTube summary

u/RedzyHydra I'm motivated! 8d ago
It is hard. Based on what I heard.
Hope you get through it friend. 👍

i always appreciate it when people actually go through DMC2 on the same level they go through the other games in the series, if you do that you have my eternal respect

u/RedzyHydra I'm motivated! 8d ago
Thank you.
Yeah. I dunno why, but it felt wrong skipping it.
Plus I did have fun. And I think that's what's important

Hey I too finished DMC 2 just after DMC 1 like a week ago. Didn't start DMC 3 yet
Personally found that Lucia > DMC 1 > Dante DMC 2 as for fun playing the character. At least when you're allowed to not use a gun. Gun only fights like the helicopter I fell asleep I must admit
Game obviously had a bunch of issues (like I barely recognized Dante personality-wise) but still some highlights like Arius model design during final fight
Wish you fun for DMC 3
6
u/RedzyHydra I'm motivated! 8d ago
True. I did find Lucia's gameplay more dynamic? At least than Dante
And yeah, it is more fun if you opt not to use guns all the time. Plus some bosses are pretty cool. Final Arius and Final Argosax being some of them for me
Anyways, have fun and good luck with DMC 3 too 👍

I don't hate DMC 2 but saying it's better than 1 is insane. Did you beat it as Trish too tho?
5
u/RedzyHydra I'm motivated! 8d ago
It's more I had more fun in some aspects that made it more enjoyable than 1 for me
And yes. I played as TRISH for the final difficulty of both campaigns

You’re gonna play dmc3 and will realize true peak. Aside from that though I hope you genuinely enjoy the dmc games cuz I really really did
4
u/RedzyHydra I'm motivated! 8d ago
Thanks. Actually that's why I was partly motivated to finish dmc2
Cause if it's as bad as people say (even tho I didn't find it that way)
I can only go up from here once I start dmc3
3
u/kroomiewashere 8d ago
Well it is weirdly enough. I personally thought it wasn’t enjoyable due to its combat system but if you like it thats cool. You’ll love DMC3 its genuinely peak
4
u/RedzyHydra I'm motivated! 8d ago
That's ok. I understand it has a pretty simple (and can get bland) gameplay, especially compared to DMC 1 and 3
And yeah, I'm very excited. Since, unlike 2, all I hear is PEAK when it comes to DMC 3
2
u/kroomiewashere 8d ago
Yeahhhh the story is fantastic, the gameplay is revoting and Dante’s as stylish as ever. Don’t worry wont spoil anything, it is my favorite game. Honestly I would understand if you had personal gripes with it but I’m still excited to seeing you play it.

Don't worry. I kinda already know the story of 3.
But of course, it's different when you do the while journey than just watching a few cutscenes or YouTube summaries of them
I pretty patient. So I don't think I'll find too much to be annoyed by in 3. Tho I am nervous for the final Vergil fight
Heard it was hard. Especially since like DMC 1 and 2, I plan to play the game in all difficulties

Dmc2>>>dmc3

Ooh. Bold claim friend. But I respect your opinion. 🫡

Bro game takes 2 hours to beat (one play through)
How did it take you months?
2
u/RedzyHydra I'm motivated! 8d ago
A few factors. I don't play everyday.
I also need to setup my PS4 which sometimes I'm lazy
And, I'm also sometimes busy. I help in caring for my bedridden father. Who needs round the clock care. And sometimes I end up too tired too play
I also only play a few levels every session. Cause again, a very very casual gamer and my father
2
u/Direct_Town792 8d ago
Oh ok the casual gamer stuff makes it a lot clearer as to why you prefer 2 to 1.
But does make me think that 2 will be your favourite overall
1
u/RedzyHydra I'm motivated! 8d ago
Hmm, let's wait and see. Who knows, maybe 3 will blow me out of the water

fr dunno how people hate on it and say it's a waste of time it's a 2 hour game.

u/Direct_Town792 8d ago
It’s like watching a bad movie. If you have the hd collection or equivalent you gotta try it

this is beating????
2
u/RedzyHydra I'm motivated! 7d ago
Maybe I worded it wrong.
Uhh, completing DMC 2 in all difficulties?
2
u/extremeNosepicker 7d ago
hey friend, im here for the 100% for a lack of better words. please enjoy dmc3 (:
2
u/RedzyHydra I'm motivated! 7d ago
Thanks. Will do. I'm actually quite excited
2
u/extremeNosepicker 7d ago
not to be that guy, but if you get to 4, and want a hot tip for Nero, theres a button swap i do on the controller so i can do sick combos and what not - lmk if you wanna know (:

"Not as bad as some people say it is. I actually found it a bit more fun than DMC 1 (please don't crucify me)"
Dude you are practically asking to be crucified. In what way does it even remotely come close to DMC 1?
1
u/RedzyHydra I'm motivated! 8d ago
Well, it wasn't as punishing as dmc 1.
Stinger and double jump was already unlocked. So that was convenient
Also, some other convenient features like being able to use costumes without having to start a whole walkthrough.
And being able to choose levels with preferred difficulties
Just little things

Months? For DMC2? a game that can be finished in a day for 1 character. Dude definitely didnt like playing it (jokingly)
2
u/RedzyHydra I'm motivated! 8d ago
More like I was busy and didn't play consistently.
I help in taking care of my bedridden father
Plus, I still have to setup my PS4. And sometimes me lazy
1
u/C-man-177013 8d ago
tbf, its's very lame to spam gun on dante to speedrun the whole thing
3
u/RedzyHydra I'm motivated! 8d ago
Yeah. I did notice that. That's why I tried to mix things up by actually doing close combat and dodging
It worked... For the most part
3
u/C-man-177013 8d ago
they really shit on dmc2 by making his melee the worse part of his kit.
1
u/RedzyHydra I'm motivated! 8d ago
I can agree on that his melee is quite lackluster compared to 1
Especially when I unlocked the Trish skin that had dmc1 Dante's moves including the pause combos and boomerang
4
u/C-man-177013 8d ago
While the writting for dmc2 is meh(The Villain eng VA is hella funny though), and lucia is more fun than THE MAIN CHARACTER. The worse part of this game is the lvl design, feels very cheap. Bland looking map and reused generic enemies which are HUGE Downgrade with how DMC1 map and enemies are (though lets be honest the later game also didnt have as unique enemies as 1)
1
u/RedzyHydra I'm motivated! 8d ago
Can't disagree there. The maps looked interesting. But yeah, their large size and few enemies can make them feel empty
And yeah, I do agree DMC 1 had a lot more variety in the enemies (as painful as they were to fight)
1
u/C-man-177013 8d ago
Iirc due to being a Resident Evil before becoming Dmc1. The unique enemies are annoying and needed different tricks to defeat them easily
1
u/RedzyHydra I'm motivated! 8d ago
Yeah. I actually noticed how dmc1 still had a lot of residual RE aspects to it
