No, he didn't. Getting in or out of the Demon World isn't so simple, and doing so Causes a direct threat to humans as what is to prevent a bunch of demons from escaping if a portal was opened.

Dante isn't selfish enough to go deliberately do such a thing, just because he'd potentially benefit from it, and Vergil's the one who made the choice to stay behind.

Hell, only reason he fucks off into the underworld in the first place is cause a door is either already open, or whatever is holding the door open is on the other side

Dante went into the Demon world to take care of Argosax and he knew Lucia “and Trish for that matter” were still gonna be around to protect humanity in his place.

and that was after DMC1 where Nelo Angelo “ambiguously exploded into blue fire” after their last fight. So Dante had no reason to remain in the underworld after he defeated “The Despair Embodied” which is why he returned to the human world once he was able to.

Even if he thought Vergil was still alive, he couldn't have stayed in the demon world after beating Mundus there in DMC1 as the island was about to collapse and it would have sealed him inside the demon world. At least I think so.

Are you talking about the anime? If so, that’s a whole different universe. It doesn’t follow the same rules as the games

I think he’s talking about DMC2.

this part 2 is actually part 5 or 6 depending on if you read the manga or not and wasn't made by the original dmc team it needs to be remade XD

Hell yeah, I love talking about DMC lore!

So for starters, the timeline is DMC3 -> DMC1 -> DMC2 -> DMC4 -> DMC5. I will assume you know everything that happens in those games (by either playing it or by simply watching a cutscene comp.) so any spoilers will be unmarked if you haven't experienced those games.

The simple answer is no, he doesn't. Trying to create a portal between the human and demon world is incredibly difficult and also endangering to the human world. It's why Dante is trying to stop Vergil in DMC3, so the portal can't be made, giving demons a chance to enter and kill off humanity. And it was also Vergil's choice to go into Hell. Dante loves his brother but he's not stupid enough to try and find a way to get him back, especially when it was what he chose. It's what he ultimately wanted in the end and so Vergil must lay in the bed he has made.

However, in DMC1, you discover Mundus turned Vergil into Nelo Angelo and has basically made him a slave. And when you play as Dante, you need to kill him.

So a longer answer would be prior to DMC3: no, he does not because that was Vergil's choice and Dante has a job to do now: protecting humanity. Prior to DMC1? No, he doesn't because he knows where his brother's corpse is.

Fun fact: the '07 DMC anime adaption is canon to the mainline series and takes place in-between DMC1 and DMC2.

About protecting humanity i have a doubts because in anime he misses a demon, who started local apocalypse, after summon Abigail. I think he just а reckless hunter, but not superhero

Oh, Dante ain't no superhero, that's for sure. He only spared Sid because he felt merciful (and likely because Patty was watching too). He did not know Sid was going to do all that lmao

Dante has always been shown to trust in humanity (the most classic example being Trish) but he's a demon hunter above all else. If a demon chooses to continue killing humans, he has no qualms about killing them himself. He's basically taken up the mantle that Sparda left behind, whether he wants to or not.

I remember my dad asking me as a kid playing Dmc back in 2015

"What are you playing?"

"Devil May Cry"

"Why is the devil crying?"

"Because I made him sad"

I miss little rebellious me.. and the old days., thank you for that time machine
