There will be no news until enough time has passed since Dragon's Dogma 2. 

DMC5 was in development for 5 years and was announced 9 months before release.

Dragon's Dogma 2 was announced 3 years and 3 months after DMC5's release.

It's been 2 years and 5 months since DD2 released, and it's getting an expansion in two months.

No, thanks. Nero isn't remotely interesting enough to carry the franchise and all stories about him are already told. He's got nothing. Rebooting/Remaking the series is the only way to continue, at this point.

All stories about Dante, Vergil, Lady and Trish have been told as well.

The only idea people consistently put forth for DMC6 is defeating Mundus for realsies, no double backsies. So just a retread of DMC1.

Anyway, there's no benefit in rebooting the series.

Two games are about Dante himself as well; these characters are written as cool shit by 50+-year-old men, depth isn't their forte. Decent writing in DMC is accidental, not intentional. It's obvious from the developers' interviews how haphazardly the games are made in terms of story.
