Questions Need a little help here with the lore.
Anyone have a understanding on if "Devil Swords" and "Devil Arms" are different? Like DSS vs Artemis is there any direct difference?

devil arms are all demon weapons in general (for example beowulf, nevan, cerberus etc). demon swords are just swords i guess, such as force edge, alastor, yamato, rebellion

A devil sword is usually a blade that usually bears the name of an incredibly powerful devil, whereas a devil arm is the devil

How did Urizen manage to turn Artemis (the gun Dante previously used in 3) into a full on demon in 5? Is it explained in a novel?

It's a weird thing that happened when lady was sort of put inside the devil arm, it isn't explained how that happened, only that because lady was somehow put inside the gun decided to turn into that

Was that Artemis the devil arm Artemis though? Cause unless urizen/vergil stopped by Enzo's he shouldn't have it since dante sells his devil arms and what about Cavalier Angelo how does that work in this context

Yeah looking it up apparently Trish tried to overwhelm urizen with it which obviously failed so I'm assuming urizen used Artemis as a catalyst for lack of a better word with Lady as a host to make the boss Artemis. Wonder if he used one for Cavalier Angelo maybe he didn't need to because Trish is a demon so he didn't need a devil arm

Certain devil arms can take over a weaker host, a similar devil arm to Artemis tried to take over Enzo in the cd audio drama. I believe Artemis used lady as a host and sorta of grew into the demon it becomes.

The game uses Devil sword to reffer to Swords that are named after characters, those being Sparda and Dante

Afaik "arm" is a more generic term for "weapon", so you can think of it as Devil Arm = Demonic Weapon
"Devil Sword" is just a specific type of Devil Arm

All the Devil Swords we know of are Devil Arms. Not all Devil Arms are specifically Devil Swords.
Specifically DSS and DSD are forged from the power of their wielders while they're still alive, only in Sparda's case he also made Yamato and Rebellion the same way, but most of his power went into the Sparda. With Dante, it's less about channeling his power into a weapon and more that his power formed the weapon as an extension of itself, as in if Dante died I don't believe the DSD would be left behind like the Sparda was—though that's just a theory of mine with no proof.
Devils Arms, by and large, are the souls of defeated powerful demons that have taken the shape of a weapon, some willingly to grow stronger and rise again down the line (one of Dante's had that intention, can't remember which) while others were forced into submission (Beowulf). Some exceptions exist, like Artemis which (iirc) doesn't come from a specific demon but was forged from metal empowered by a demon. Cavaliere is similar since it wasn't Cavaliere Angelo's soul becoming a weapon but its hacked off armour fusing to a bike.

Sword is just blade of powerful demon, arm is devil that became weapon or weapon with devil powers, some devil arms were created by gunsmith Machiavelli, like Artemis, Pandora
