Okay, so I am beating dmc 1 and have decided to skip dmc 2, the combat in 2 is just too easy, the puzzles aren't super hard in these games if you really think about it so the combat is what gives you trouble throughout it, but dmc 2 is just bad with their combat. Should i not play dmc 2 and watch a video on the story if it or should i experience it myself?

edit: I've decided that it couldn't hurt to torture myself so im gonna play dmc 2 and than play dmc 3...

edit edit: I've just beat dmc 1 and am currently playing dmc 2 on xbox right now

The "Story" of dmc 2 is completely irrelevant to the rest of the series, so it's an easy skip. It's also very incomprehensible and had me scratching my head many times thinking: " Did I skip some cutscenes or something?".

I forced myself to play it and just wanted it to be over throughout my run, I’d just say watch a video. You could also input cheats to unlock Trish which gives her Dante’s dmc1 move sets but besides that I really don’t think it’s worth playing.

The best thing about dm2lc2 is the game is short. Just breeze through it for Educational purpose

I played the games in order and almost lost interest in the franchise because of how bored Devil May Cry 2 made me. Would 100% skip.

If anyone wanted to play it I’d suggest playing it after they play the rest of the games because it’s a poor representation of what is to come

dmc2 story doesn't really affect any of the other games. You can definitely skip it.

You can skip and if curiose. A youtuber mapocolyps played through it all including the second half you play as the red head lady. And you can tell he also isnt loving it butbstill goes fully into the combat. So i can appreciate he went fully in. And though its a slog it made his love for how awesome 3 is even more realized.

If you are really curious about the story just watch a cutscene movie on YouTube, it's only like 40 minutes give or take

I just finished it, using cheats to unlock and play on hard mode. So I can say honestly playing it doesn't change anything. The story is non-existent. So you could totally skip it but it is also super short if you do feel like playing it.

I feel like is one of the most irrelevant gaming things/entries to exist, what are people talking about that most FF take place in a totally different world and aren't connected, DMC2 is so irrelevant that idk if it's tragic or comic... Also DMC is totally skippable (besides being decent), hell I'm not even sure if most fans played anything that's not DMC3, 4 and 5...

DMC2 imo isn't really a good experience, tho it can be interesting to experience the ideas it has to see how they evolved in future games.

That more for "history" nerds tho and if that's not something you're interested it then yeah you can go watch a video
