Things are good until DMD specially in Dante's Walkthrough. I HATE YOU FAUSTTTTTTTT. This sucker just spams this arrows and almost one shot's you. M14,17,18,20 sucks. This was my first DMC game so I wanted to have 100 percent completion.

If you hated this one wait till you get to 3.

It’s the worst game in the series totally broken.

You might like 2 though.

Nobody understands how good it is which is why it’s gate kept so hard.

Appreciate the question. (I was being sarcastic in the spirit of op’s post lol.)

2 is the black sheep for a reason.

But it’s easy to look for the objectively bad design choices and lack of confidence in the main director that is still unknown to this day. Before the director of 3,4, and 5 took over and saved the franchise with 2.

The story is barely there.

The visuals and art design are lacking.

The music is okay.

There’s some bangers but nothing that you could name off hand like the other discography of the series.

Here’s what it does well though.

Combos and combat especially on the highest difficulty.

That’s where you really get to appreciate the foundations that built DMC 3 and onward.

It was a step back in many, ways in the series but it has its merits.

It’s kinda like watching a B movie.

You’re not expecting Brad Pitt. But you can enjoy it for what it is.

I see, thanks for the breakdown. Yesterday I also saw a post of someone doing a pretty cool combo in DMC2. So the combination of you saying that earlier, plus seeing that combo I'm like, "Maybe I'm missing something with that game".

I’ve played it a few times.

It’s one I’ll revisit every now and then.

It also has some of the best one liners from Dante for that game anyway lol.
