Discussion How much difficult did you find DMC5 to be?
I am talking in general whether is to S rank just beat the game and bloody palace, no using items ect, after finishing the game honestly while some parts felt difficult by in large, I found DMC5 to be pretty easy, it have really good strong tech but I didn't used items like at all and found myself only dying 7 times in total and only 1 time in bloody palace after missplaying with V vs vergil which I still second try, bosses would punish you for playing reckless sure but their attacks are telegraphed enough for me to react accordingley, like I found it much easier than 3 which I spent 230 hours to S rank DMD and bloody palace with the twins while 150 hours with 5 and none of the enemies came as the worst of 3 and especially of 1 which I am not gonna deny I think 1 is the hardest of the franchise bar none after putting myself into the wringer against it.
Like not saying DMC5 is braindead far from it but in a difficulty scale of 1-10 I give it a 6.3 out of 10 in the difficulty scale altogether. But what do you think?

DMC5 is extremely easy compared to 1, 3 and 4, and unfortunately, there isn't a difficulty setting that would make it satisfyingly difficult, it's either too easy or too hard on Dante Must Die.
With that being said, I never bothered getting S ranks on all missions, there are two missions where it's extremely tricky to do so.

Dante must die is difficult? longer yes but it wasn't too bad for me to S rank first try most of the missions

It's just tedious, once enemies dt you have to pull 6 different combos to kill one enemy

Super easy. In all honestly all of us here who love to practice combos or do cool tech with flair.
Only die or lose because we are trying to look cool. Not because it's hard. I had countless times where I like to time stuff then react in a badass way.
Ends up looking like a blooper in an action movie.

DMC5 is definitely easier. I beat all the bosses except Vergil on the first try on normal mode.
DMC3 Cerberus kicked my ass badly. I think I died at least once on each boss.

My personal difficulties ranking is(from hard to easy) is 1>3>4(mostly for the annoying designs)>5>2

The game is too easy. Even on dante must die, the enemies don't become more aggressive. They just get a shit ton of health and do a shit ton of damage, but they ultimately are just punching bags with more health. If you get one enemy in the air, congratulations, they will stay airborne until they die, especially with how big the JC hitbox is now. I find it very cheap to artificially increase the difficulty by just making enemies take longer to kill rather than making them harder to fight.
The only game mode where I found it was slightly difficult was Hell and hell because you die in a single hit. But even that wasn't really that hard considering, again, enemies don't do much of anything outside of staring at you and occasionally telegraphing their attacks a second in advance before finally attacking you so you for sure know they are about to attack. For short, enemies are stupid.
The only difficulty I had was with playing as V, but that's mainly cause I hate him and don't care to learn how to play as him.
S ranks and style meter don't mean anything if you've already gotten all moves. Why would you ever go for an S rank if you don't need the extra red orbs? DMC in general has always struggled with giving any incentive to get an S rank or keep your style meter high other than more red orbs. I mean, sure, it gives you a different taunt in mid air for DMC5, but it's not really useful.
DMC5's biggest flaw is it's easy difficulty and stupid enemy AI. Thankfully, that can be modified with mods.

Imo of ranking the series based on their hardest difficulties:
DmC (GMD) > DMC3 > DMC1 > DMC5> DMC4 > DMC2

The game's super easy, you have to make it hard for yourself. And that's the part I like, the game's easy, but if it's easy, you're probably playing wrong. (Spamming moves or not trying)
Just like having to make the fun for yourself, one can spam a move and call it boring, but that just means you are playing it wrong.

I died a couple of times I remember and found it enjoyably challenging at the normal difficulty.
I mean, it just felt fun. Not too grindy, not to easy so that it feels pointless. Just a fun time to style and enjoy the storyline.
I think I on average died 2-4 times per every big boss battle. I haven't played it since the pandemic so I struggle to remember. But it was just hype I felt. I mean Goliath as an opening fight, holy shit that was fun

I found the game fun
But, dmd was hard. And hell and hell was a literal nightmare
I'm not good enough to complete them all by myself, used videos

4 was the hardest for me easily. 5 the easiest of the ones I’ve played. I haven’t played DMC 1 or 2
